Custom Leather Crossdraw Holster?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I want to get a nice owb custom leather crossdraw holster for my Sig 938.

I don't like my gun to ride too high above my belt.....the grip needs to stay as close to the beltline as possible.

Any recommendations?

Have you looked at Side Guard Holsters?  I bought the "Slide" model for a J Frame about 4-5 years ago and was pleased.    The finish work at the time wasn't quiet as nice as say my DM Bullard but it's good quality IMO.  I believe the owner's name is Eric, and if you don't see what you'd like to have, let him know since he does a lot of custom stuff.

PackinMama,

Hope you will do a review on their product if you decide to buy.

I checked out their website, appears to be a competitive price point for quality product.

From all my internet surfing, I don't recall many if any holster makers specifically designs for the female consumer.

Very curious from your perspective for my wife's benefit.

I ordered a Cross Guard for my 938 and a Rough Out Pocket Holster for my LCP. I'd be happy to do a review when they arrive. The current wait is 8-9 weeks, so it will be a little while. ;)

Hopefully you will be happy with the purchase otherwise I guess my name is mud since I suggested them. I'm kind of interested to see if you are able to get a full grasp on the handle since it appears to be a low riding model.

Ahhh, don't worry Trek. I won't blame you if I don't like it! ;)

As far as it looking like it rides lower..... that's one reason I really liked it! I prefer my grip to ride just barely above the belt line. I think it will work out perfectly for me.

Take a look at the Simply Rugged Cuda.  It may ride too high for you, but at $60.00 it is a heck of a value.

+1 for Simply Rugged. I have the Silver Dollar Pancake model for my SP101 and really like it, great quality and price. I have been considering a Cuda for a while now. Not sure how hight the Cuda rides but it looks like it would be low, since it is able to go IWB or OWB. I carry my SP101 IWB in the pancake holster.

Sounds like you may have found what you are looking for PackinMama but I thought I would let you know I also had a good experience with Simply Rugged.

FIST makes one that tilts to parallel with the push of a button for sitting in a car.   Get out and just straighten it back upright--no need to repush button.

I am looking to get on for my 938.  What cant did you order 20 degree?

I ordered 15 degree for the Cross Draw, because I will sometimes carry it at 1:00 in the appendix carry position and I didn't want it to be at too much of a cant.

If I was going to use it in the crossdraw position only....I'd have went with 20 degree.

The "Rough Out" pocket holster I ordered is for my LCP. On the order form, it had the option to choose the cant on that one too, but I left it blank.

I'm pretty sure that one would only come one way......?

I hate buying holsters that I can't see and feel.  Just about everything that I have ordered has been not all that acceptable.  Being a lefty forget about finding anything in a store.  With all the holsters that Bass Pro has in stock they had ZERO for a lefty.

I just saw this on eBay: Left Handed DM Bullard Bodyguard for $85

I know you can't check it out before you buy it, but one thing about D.M. Bullard holsters is that you know it's top notch.

I've never heard anyone give anything but excellent reviews on their holsters.
