Are there any dealers in the Memphis area that stock Daniel Defense rifles? I know there are several dealers in the area but none that keep them around. I like to see things before I order them.

2nd on G&A on Summer. They carry some high end stuff. No tax on sticker price if paying with cash/debit etc + $10 fee. One thing they do is charge first and run background second. I guess it's because locality? Be sure and read the big sign on the wall stating policy.

I was in there recently on two different occasions. Purchased a handgun on both. Both times I was told they no longer do this. The place was crowded and every customer that I saw make a purchase (including me) paid sticker price plus sales tax + $10 fee.

Buyers might want to confirm the current policy with the counter guys at G&A.

G&A will still do the no sales tax thing about twice per year, but you are correct about sticker price. It seems that they price just high enough to negate the savings that you would get on the internet.

Ah, the internet. That happens to be my favorite gun shop, prices are low and the sales staff (me) is knowledgeable & friendly.

I purchased my rifle directly from Daniel Defense.

Interesting. Been awhile since I have been there, maybe late summer. Hope they reduced the sticker price.

I would 2nd Arms Fair on Trinity.  I have bought a couple of guns from them with good experience.  They don't tend to up the prices either like I've seen on some things @ G&A.  IMHO stay away from Classic Arms...some of their staff come off as knuckle draggers to me...

Guess everyone can have different experiences, but I've had nothing but good ones at Classic Arms. When I bought my M&P Shield I went there first. They didn't have any in stock and were taking deposits for the ones that were trickling in. I left there and immediately drove over to Guns & Ammo. They had plenty in stock the price was the same so I bought it there. What that tells me is people were willing to put a deposit down & wait for their name to be called. All in the name of customer service & loyalty.

The only reason I bought mine somewhere else that day was that I had already waited my wife out for a long time and finally got her to agree that I could get one. Had to strike while the iron was hot! Edited by CQB Elite

I actually bought my Shield at Classic Arms about a month ago, only because they had them in stock and are closer to my house. But in all the times I've been in there seen alot of improper gun handling by the some of the staff and just heard alot of ill founded opinions to be had, kinda like G&A. But I guess most LGSs are like the equivalent of the old lady knitting club for men...

I'd imagine it might as occasionally I am one of those knuckle draggers behind the counter. I'm not a authorized to speak on behalf of the shop and wouldn't anyways as anyone who has been around this place long enough remembers threads where that happens. Sorry folks, I won't turn this into one of those epic threads. I am curious as to the source of your dissatisfaction with the shop. I won't disagree with the knitting circle analogy as I find it pretty apt. Just curious what about our knitting circle rubs you the wrong way.

Chuck,

For myself ( and this was 3+ years ago and longer back to '03) it was extremely high transfer fees, grumpy/rude sales guys, low inventory, and high priced guns.  The last time I was there was to meet you.  When I was in there browsing, I'll give you this...the guys there acknowledged me and even made a comment about the hat I was wearing.  So maybe things have changed on gone on an upswing.

Part of the problem is that people can have  a long memory and once burned/angered, twice shy.  I generally don't even consider CA due to those past experiences.

If you say the place and attitude has changed for the better, that's definitely a good thing and worth a visit.  One person and one person only kept me going back to G&A despite some of his colleagues' best efforts.

OP, I apologize for the divergence of this thread away from your question.

I think you will be very happy with a rifle from DD. I know I love mine. If I weren't recovering from 2 knee replacement surgeries I'd meet you somewhere and let ya look mine over. But anyway, order one. You won't be sorry.
