Reflex/red dot advice needed.

So, for the newbie EBR owner on an extreeeemely tight budget (like under $100 tight) can anyone recommend me a sight for fast target aquisition?

I've bought a flat-top upper for my AR & I have no sights. At some point I'd like to throw on a set of flip-up sights (would this be a better option?) but I kinda like the idea of a non-magnifying, fast to point sight.

It's pretty much a range queen that I can let a friend's kid shoot (I'll probably end up banging off a round or two....) instead of him trying to shoulder the gun as-is with a 20" stainless bull barrel & scope. I reckon it'd serve for home/livestock defense too, so long range isn't important.

Obviously I'm on a hugely limited budget, but I don't want to go with the God-knows-what-I'm-buying Chiwanese EBay special.

Buy flip up irons (I think you can still get the Magpul set for less than $100). Save more money to buy a good red dot to add later, then you have both.

Basically, 100 dollars gets you a perfectly serviceable set of irons that will do the job forever. I haven't seen a 100 dollar optic that I would feel comfortable trusting.

Irons are a plus I just picked up a UTG 1-4 24 red/green dot with a round / dor reticle use the black circle n dot if the battery diea, comes w rings and locknuts on the turrets, dust covers was 129 bucks from ken Arnold. If it lasts longer than the millet red dot or sig red dot ill be happy, its on a 556 R that chews on optics for lunch... Go figure

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

+1    $100 gets you China made but some of them may last awhile. .
