See "Blackfish" on CNN?

Wow, really powerful.

 

I've only kept up with various individual cases of the captive killer whale incidents, but seeing the whole history of them in water parks, the way they are caught, trained, kept, and handled, and of course along with the social and psychological science of the animal itself, I found it compelling, and mostly just overall heartbreaking.

I imagine they'll keep it as sequestered as they can either on air or in theaters for as long as they can.

 

I was able to see it from 3-5 am! this morning. Search on TV guide doesn't show any repeats for the next week or so though, I figgered they'd air the hell out of it for awhile,  but seems not.

 

Not on Comcast On Demand for free or pay either.

Oh I see.  I hate to pontificate about matters without having actually seen the film.  I did read that CNN got a huge rating out of the airing.  I will try to catch it in rerun. 

 

I will say that if they decided to turn them all loose, you wouldnt find me protesting.  Although I'm not sure how they'd fair post-captivity, but cant be much worse than their current state, both physically and mentally

TV Guide doesn't show it, but hope you're right, I'll watch it again.

 

That section where the old orca hunter talks about it is spellbinding, memorable like Quint's Indianapolis story in Jaws, but real life character.
