My Glock Rusted! :(

Gen 3 Glock 23 ( think made 2008). I have been carrying it when I can and no issues from rust. Just some wear from the fobus paddle holster. Mind, I don't carry it everyday since i got the shield.

 

Other than that, no problems what so ever.

From my experience , if you find a used Glock , with the old flat black looking color , then it is Tenifer treated and you are good to go . This is the reason I made a crazy long trip to Chattanooga a few months ago to buy an old Gen 2 G21 .  Tenifer , no finger grooves , no MIM parts,  and works as reliable as an AK47  :rock:

So maybe that is why some photos of Glocks seem much "darker" than mine. Curious in this, would be interested in getting one perhaps.

To me the newer style without the Tenifer treatment looks like Teflon that comes on non-stick cooking pans. I believe that the older ones with Tenifer had no "finish" at all and that flat black look was just the way the Tenifer made the metal look after it's Tenifer treatment . Tenifer is a metal treatment and not a finish .
