So they fired Michael Arndt from writing Star Wars Episode VII. He wrote Empire and Jedi as well as Raiders as I understand it.

I just had to vent, as I am worried that a beloved series from the childhood will be trashed in the same manner as Star Trek which has left me feeling like I ate empty calories after watching them.

Dang it.

Already been ruined three times over in any case.

I have the original 3 in their original, unmodified versions salted away so I'm good whichever way it goes.

I doubt Disney could eff it up as much as George Lucas did :)

The worst part might be having to sit through an hour of Disney previews just to watch it. I swear if I have to see another "Lady & the Tamp" preview, I'm gonna snap!

Fear not.  Arndt may be out, be had nothing to do with Empire, Jedi, and Raiders.  He is way, way, way too young to have been involved in those.  Lawrence Kasdan did write all of those movies, and he is still attached to the project with Abrams.

I am looking forward to the Abrams versions as I have enjoyed his reboot of the Star Trek franchise.  Honestly, he could not do much worse than what Lucas did in Episodes I,II and III.
