A Navy recruiter who had been relieved of duty at a Tennessee naval base Thursday afternoon opened fire outside the facility, injuring two soldiers and prompting a brief lockdown.

Seems he was relieved of duty and went and got a weapon out of his car, injuries to the two National Guardsmen appear to be non-life threatening.

Outside the base, inside the Armory or the news has it wrong:

A Navy recruiter who had been relieved of duty at a Tennessee naval base Thursday afternoon opened fire outside the facility, injuring two soldiers and prompting a brief lockdown.

The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was relieved of duty at the Millington base, which is located in a Memphis suburb, the report said. The shooting occurred inside the National Guard Armory just outside the base after the suspect retrieved a small handgun from his car, local police told the station. He was promptly tackled by two soldiers and taken into custody by the Millington Police Department.
