Thanks everybody. I never thought I would own a Henry Big Boy. I can't seem to put it back into the safe, lol. I find myself carrying it around the house, wiping 'er down, shouldering it, etc. It's as if I was a kid on Christmas morning. lol

Pride of ownership is nice! When you get a chance to exercise it please let us know how it goes. One of my wife's nephews has had one in 45 Colt for several years and he still hasn't taken out! ... I may have to hornswoggle him into me giving it a maiden voyage. : / Edited by Djay3

The receiver under the cover plate is steel, and I would not be surprised if the covers are plated.  If plated, then likely nickel on steel, and brass on surface.

You can order a replacement cover (likely free under warranty... we had one sent to us that way)

"The result is the first American made .44 Henry lever action featuring a solid brass receiver since the original Henry rifle of 1860."

EDIT: My guess is that the 22 versions are plated since they are much less expensive.

What network?

They have a 30 minute infomercial on in the early mornings.  Don't know what channel but it's not Outdoors, at least I haven't seen it on that channel since the cable company saw fit to start charging for it.

Here it is...

Thanks fellas. I can't wait to shoot it. I've only shot 45 Long Colt a few times, and that was with my Uberti 1875 Uberti Revolver Carbine.

How do you fire this without powder burning your hand? Gloves?
