My TGO 300 Blackout AR Pistol Build

Recommended Posts

Somebody stop me! No more spending on this thing. Have a few more parts en route. One of them was a bit over-the-top, but I've been wanting one for a while. While it was a bit pricey, I did manage to find someone selling one for a fair discount. Still absurd.

UTG yeah? I have one of these. It's in the way of my forward assist. (As if i'll ever use it).

I have a similar single point attachment on one of my ARs. I just dremeled off the right side since I'm right handed, which keeps that unnecessary metal out of the way of your forward assist.

It certainly sticks out near it, but my FA still functional, have it on 3 ARs. I guess it does somewhat hinder hitting it as fully with heel of hand instead of just thumb.

'Course, has always seemed to me that if a round won't chamber with reasonable pressure from FA (or just thumb on bolt cutout for uppers without it),  smacking FA as hard as possible is more likely to render the rifle unusable at all rather than fix the situation.

Is the military drill to smack it with heel of hand or what?

File your SBR paperwork, and buy a part per month... you'll still have to wait for the stamp to actually put the buttstock on.

I'm thinking about registering the lower as an SBR, build an 18" mid-length upper in 5.56, and then do a short upper in .300BLK once the stamp shows up.

If you start with the .300 you can work out any bugs and be shooting it exactly as it will be configured while waiting on the stamp,  just without the stock on it, something maybe to consider?

Just received the MAS Defense fluted pistol buffer tube. I added the foam tube. Unless they were running a sale that I didn't know about, they mistakenly sent me the buffer, chrome silicone buffer spring and end plate, too. They sent me the kit, and I ordered only the tube. They only charged me for the tube, so I'll call and see how they want to handle it.

I obviously haven't installed it, but it appears to be very good quality. Not that these tubes have a habit of breaking, but I like the beefier "shoulder". It looks better, and adds strength.
