You will have to remove the crimp.  Easily done with right tools.

When you are ready to load them, let me know and I'll swage for you.

B.

ps - I have seen a lot of this in my LC brass.

Interesting. I have bought this same brand/type before and they didn't have this. No big deal just extra work. I'll let you know Bert, thanks. Edited by Lumber_Jack

Never seen that kind of crimp before. Is this their new style?

I think so, from what google-fu I can find. Seems to be easier to siege than previous versions but still needs to be removed.

Surprised me the first time I saw them too. With my eyes, I thought I was going cross-eyed (again).  Swaged with the RCBS tool and a turn or so on the pocket reamer, they look like the rest.

I'm gonna get a swager. I have 600 old crimps I have to get rid of. Do you like the RCBS? I was thinking about a Dillon

Found in military but also AR specific ammo. Same purpose as old crimp meant to keep primer from backing out during automatic loading. Edited by Lumber_Jack

I have a Dillon and like it. Still need to buy myself a reamer though.

I am thinking any of them will do.

On my Redding T7, removing the pressed cases off of the RCBS swager die (on reverse stroke) is slightly harder than with a RCBS press (eg Rockchucker), but not too bad.   If you have a Dillon press, then that's what I would do, although I cannot imagine consistently doing these operations on a progressive press.

But, you only have to do it once.

If all you have is 600, then that's just an hour or two, if that.

That's a new one to me. I had to de-crimp a bunch of Federal 6.8s lately, but no Lake Citys. They all had the

round indention. Another good use of the drill press and tool. I've seen Lake City 13s with the round crimp, but not

like that.

That's not the normal cartridge in the American Eagle boxes, is it? Looks to me like they must have run out and

contracted for something until their production is up to par.

I ran accros this type of crimp / stake about 4 yrs ago for the first time.  I don't recall it being Lake City though, it swaged out like standard crimp

Never seen it before today. It's called an "ammo can" but it's just 120rds in a plastic box
