"A group of 10 black youths — one of them a 12-year-old girl — surrounded a white couple's car in Brooklyn, viciously beating the husband and yanking the wife to the pavement by her hair as they peppered the two with racial slurs, authorities said."

And people wonder why some of us carry....  A .45 beats a banana...

Instances like this confirm that people in this country have no education or common sense whatsoever.
It'll be things like this that could inevitably spark a race war. What black man in his right mind would want that or could possibly be deluded enough to think he'd gain from it?
The one thing white men have excelled at throughout history.....wholesale slaughter. If the people of this country were to ever be polarized to the point of an actual race war, what chance would any non white race have?

I'd like to see a pie chart with the number of private arms owned relative to the race that owns them. Edited by Caster

Even taking into account the stolen and unregistered arms commonly found in some communities (yes its a stereotype but often accurate), I think there is a strong imbalance. I mean, how many gangsters do you see with a deer rifle out hunting?

The mistake was getting out of the car. Especially with no kind of plan. I would say a group of teenagers is worse to deal with than adults - usually some common sense is obtained by age of 21 or so.

Good thing it wasn't a hate crime....

Lock the doors and stay in the car. The gas pedal is your friend.

I can see it now...   As reported in the press and carried by BS(MS)NBC...  'He done run Orangello down.  Brother was just minda his own business and this cracker done hit the gas and ran him down.'  Get Jesse and Al we's need justice for Orangello...

I'd say you are right. It's easy to say what we'd have done sitting behind the screen of our computer but my Toyota FJ would have rolled over a head or two before I got out. Never abandon armor unless they can defeat it.

Very same thing your talking about 2 nights ago. My niece from here in Dayton went with us to Pennsylvania. Took her around and showed her Baltimore and downtown. She had never seen a big city. Coming through Maryland two nights ago about one in the morning she wanted to take some pictures of Baltimore at night. I was headed around the city towards 95 and going through the tunnel. Got caught in the left lane and ended up going down the expressway. Ever seen those HBO shows The Wire or The Corner? Well that's where the expressway ends. Fayette and Orleans streets. I was still stuck in the left lane, and didn't want to say anything to scare them but pulling 34 feet of trailer I had no choice but to turn left right into gangbangerville. Straight towards the projects. Every corner there was a light and I had no defense. It was locked in the trailer due to dumb azz laws. I tried to head up to Broadway and went around John's Hopkins but no luck. Hit a one way street and had to turn right on Orleans again. Went through 5 city blocks with no street lights and not a cop in sight. My wife asked why none of the street lights were on and I didn't want to tell her but she was getting pretty scared and I pointed to some buildings and told her " See that? Those are the projects" Told her she needed to hold off on talk until I could extricate us from this situation. At each light I stayed back at least 100 feet from the last car. At the light at about the third pitch black block about 20 "yoots" came walking across the street. I threw it into 4 high. The wife was really getting scared now and asked why I was putting the truck in 4 wheel drive on a city street and why I wasn't pulling forward so when the light changed we could get out of here. Had no choice and had to explain it. I was staying back for two reasons. Cover (it was dark) and making sure I had a way out. I told her the reason its in 4 wheel drive. We're sitting in the middle of one of the worst parts of one of the most dangerous cities in America in a 2013 Tundra Crewmax pulling a fn Winnebago. We have no weapons available and there is a gang right in front of us. Our truck and trailer is our weapon. I told her don't think I won't smash this fn thing to pieces to get us out of here. And I would have and was prepared to. I ended up having to drive through 4 and a half miles of that sheet to get to 95. The 5 blacked out blocks were the worst because I know the area. If the wrong person would have spotted us you would be hearing about it on the news. And I can guarantee the outcome would have been completely different than the car guy and douchebags on the motorcycles. Later I told her the reason for no lights on 5 city blocks. The drug dealers shoot them out so the cops can't see them. The city has replaced them so many times they just gave up. When I was forced off to the left I went straight into combat mode. If you travel to big cities as I often do, where you can't even carry a firearm in your vehicle legally, don't think it can't happen to you. This is the second time in Baltimore. 13 years ago I was driving a brand new Eddie Bauer Excursion with my 10 year old in the back. Took her to show her the rink I used to play ice hockey on and ended up on North Avenue. At 6 in the evening but the situation couldn't get any worse. About 50 black crackheads started walking over towards my car stuck at a light. Just moved directly through them and through the light and on out of there. If your trained with a firearm that's fine. If you don't have a firearm you should still be training yourself. Situational awareness doesn't simply mean knowing what's around you. In my situation a couple nights ago I became a target but so did they. Most deadly, deadly and least deadly. Avenues of escape and alternate avenues of escape. Positioning based on a quick terrain evaluation. What do you have available that can be used as improvised weapons, and a ton of other thing's. In that situation getting scared, getting tunnel vision and just hoping to get out is not a plan. You need to be able to begin evaluating your situation in seconds. It happens, it happened to me more than twice in more than one big city and your seeing it on the news daily now. Of course the best defense is to stay out to begin with but I won't be living in fear of going to a city like DC to take my kid or someone to the Smithsonian for fear of turning down the wrong street. This is my country and fk you. That's my position. Completely true story.

Jeez tanker. Thanks for reminding me the reasons I hate metropolitan areas of all kinds.

Just consider them what I do. Hostile fire zones.

That age correlation has been debunked; just take a look at the adults that hang out in those big white buildings in Washington DC.

Well there are some notable exceptions.

And Tanker, what an experience. Nashville is big/bad enough for me, I have no desire to travel anything bigger.
Unfortunately I'm going to be spending several days in St. Louis in a couple weeks and I know I'll have pay extra attention to what's going on.

Be safe.  God forbid you have to go to East St. Louis for anything....

Nothing to see here, just another case of workplace violence.

Move along now

Got to have a job for it to be workplace violence.

Best to treat these areas like driving through wild animal preserves.  Keep driving, don't roll down the windows and god forbid don't try to feed the animals.

I can't believe there are people out there who aren't aware of the dangers of feral teens in packs. Musta been liberals. They sure got an education out of it.

Wonder if this killed their 'White Guilt' angst?

Probably not, but gave an awakening to their subconscious. I'm sure they think of these teens as poor, misunderstood youths who are actually a victim of the system that keeps young blacks uneducated and addicted to crack so that the white man can get rich on their backs. However, I bet they never get out of their car again when there is a pack of feral teens running around, and I bet they keep their doors locked and windows up when they go through that neighborhood, if they go through that neighborhood again. The only thing I love more than idealistic liberals are hypocritical liberals.

America's double standard. Let a group of white teenagers do the same to a black couple and it would be all over the news. The White House would probably hold a press conference. I hate the double standard in America.
