 Now Dustbuster is doing some thinking! Makes sense to me. If Dustbuster's idea doesn't do the trick, a bit of light dremel work to the back side of the selector would take care of it and not leave any visible sign.

 

I always tighten the shit out of my Hogue grips.

 I wasn't saying that over tightening was the definitely the cause, only that it made sense enough to check.

 In all honesty, the rifle I build out of the TGO receivers will be my first "pretty" gun. Outside of a couple shotguns given to me by my uncle all of my guns are well used and not being saved for the next man.

While I've never had this issue, it does appear to be quite common. A friend of mine is in the process of building his first AR, and he messaged me this morning with the same issue. Seems Hogue could/should address this issue.

It looks better if you grind or file the back side of the safety. You can easily remove the safety by putting it between safe and fire then knocking it out of the receiver. Just make sure to press the detent back down when you insert it back in.

 

The safety removal trick will not work on guns with the trigger kit.
