Ever load just to clear out partials powder cans or bullet boxes?

I do!  I went through a few cabinets of supplies and realized I had a lot of small quantities left of certain oddball weight/style bullets I had tried out over the years, and a number of nearly-empty cans of powder.  I spent yesterday evening loading stuff up simply to clear out a bunch of those partials.  Here are the results!  That's a bunch of 44 Mag and 40 S&W.  Then I re-organized my two cabinets of powder, primers, and bullets; it worked out perfectly since I added another caliber a couple weeks ago.

I'll call it "fall cleaning" and it's the only kind of cleaning I like doing!! :pleased:

I'm working towards that. Right now I'm just cleaning off my bench so I can use for anything. One big mess!

I've got a ways to go before I empty some powder cans, but I do want to work the stock down to about three basic powders.  I'm shooting Red Dot, Accurate No. 7 and Titegroup the most.  I did do a little organizing this weekend by installing shelves above my work bench in the man cave.  The wife's idea, of course.

I load tell I'm out of brass. Then I'll shoot for a day and load that brass. Haha. I try to never really have much to do. Lately im out of brass and have thousands of bullets left to load... Horrible thing. I know.

No you don't. You load until the closet is full, and then work on the next closet. :D

You mean you don't mix all the remnants together and then tell all your buddies about the "for special forces only" powder you ran across?

   I'm more 6.8 than 173rd!  I only have one closet full, and am working on a 6' cabinet now.

A newer buddy of mine, w0lfattack here on TGO, is a very straightforward reloader: one powder, one bullet, one load per caliber.  Just find one that works and simply make that over and over.  I wish I could keep it that simple!!  I think I have reloading ADHD... Sure, I have favorites, but I'm always trying new combinations.  I have over 25 different powders on hand, and I ONLY load handgun stuff for 38/357, 9, 40, and 44!  I have lots of bullet styles and weights for each caliber, except 9mm for now.  For that I just have 115gr plated RN. 147gr Hornady XTPs, and 147gr HAPs.  I would have more, but there aren't a lot of available 9mm options right now.

I'm trying to be more consistent in my loading habits.  I hand prime while watching TV and load on a Lee turret, so I'm no speed demon.  I have about 3-5 gallons' worth of brass for each caliber in 5 g buckets.  I used to jump around between each caliber 1-200 rounds at a time, but now I'm working toward focusing on one caliber until I've loaded everything I can, then on to the next.  Then a range trip gets thrown in the mix and all that goes to pot! :surrender:

I joked with wifey today that I want a Dillon setup so bad, but how would I occupy my time/afford it if I could load 4-500 rounds an hour!  :stunned: That's about my WEEKLY goal right now!

I got my bench cleaned off and cleaned every rifle I have. I found stuff I haven't seen in years.

That's me. Never loaded nothin but 124gn in 9mm and 158gn in .357, same powder forever in .357 but have used two powders in 9mm-- One powder for nearly 10 years and then another in the years since. I have a couple unopened jugs of replacement "alternate equivalent" powders in case I ever run out though.

I don't even know whether what works, works especially well, but it works good enough that its not worth screwing with something else.

6.8, what can I say, my life is uber boring and I have nothing to do but make bullets.... Well, besides this darn boat project. Which was my so called two day project now turning into a month.....

I'll get back into reloading when it's done. I'm dying to finish up my 9mm. Took two minutes out of my night to swap over my press to run 9mm, but that's it... I need to have kids to reload for me. Child slave labor at its finest. Haha

Also, 6.8, I think we go both know I wish I had a bigger closet...

I tend to dump powder into the next bottle (same type, of course).  I have loaded out to finish off a box of primers (100 each 'boxlet' I mean).  Bullets, like the powder, I just dump over to next box.  But I do have a few "did not like them" items I should load up and blast out ... sounds like a plan next rainy day.

dropped a primer in shag carpet...and forgot about it.  Kirby vacuums make great grenades.  After that I made sure I had no little drips and drabs left over.  I imagine I had spilled a little powder to make the Kirby blow out the side like that.

Spent today in the man cave sorting and organizing. I try to keep to one powder, one receipe per caliber but my choice of powder (Ramshot) is very difficult to find....having to find alternates.  IMR 3031 instead of TAC, Bullseye instead of ZIP....gets frustrating....but keeps me honest at the press. I have found a bunch of odd brass I have no use for...once I get the numbers up I'll be putting them in the Classifieds......

I found a couple boxes of unsorted .45 and 9mm. Probably 5000 pieces. Maybe there was a reason I hadn't cleaned

this mess up for so long. Lot of work ahead, now.

Instead of those fancy containers 173rd uses, I get another use out of Krogers one gallon buckets of Cookies and

Cream ice cream and fill them with brass and ammo. Does wonders for one's diet. I always have plenty of those

buckets around. :D

Hahaha. I use ice cream buckets for sorting and putting my brass in so I have a large container to grab from when loading. Love Ice cream buckets!!

I love the contents of the buckets, a bit too much. :D
