Good afternoon, people!

Back in June, right after I took my CC test, I went into Applebee's, and they had a no weapons sign posted on the door. I emailed the corporate office, and I received an email from the regional manager the very next day. As of June 29th, 2010, you are able to carry in Applebee's in Cleveland.

YOU'RE WELCOME, WORLD!

Seriously. It made me feel great. Anyone who says you are wasting your time contacting the people who make decisions, see how the grease tastes on my previously squeaky wheel!

As an aside, I will claim ignorance of weapons prohibition only if I'm actually ignorant. I don't know what it is about myself, but I don't believe in searching for an entrance without a sign, just to be able to pretend I didn't know about the other signs. I will not be a patron of Hamilton Place, period. I will not be a patron of any establishment that hinders my right, period. I will not jeopardize my right to carry. I would rather pay more elsewhere for the same goods than to take the risk. (Which is unlikely, since one can buy almost anything cheaper if you look in the right place.)

I generally will avoid businesses that even attempt to post even if posted incorrectly simply because they are telling me they don't want my money. However, I do not view entering via an entrance with no sign as an attempt to pretend you don't know the other signs are there. Instead, I view it as being in compliance with the law which requires a business/corporation to post all public entrances in order to legally be wholly off-limits to legal carry. I believe the law also speaks to posting certain portions of buildings as being off limits. In other words, my non-lawyer view is that it is in complete compliance with the law to enter via a public entrance that isn't posted while carrying no matter how many other entrances are posted. I do think it would not be wise to enter via such an unposted door with a Drako pistol slung over your shoulder just to make a point, however.

I wear my Drako strapped to my ankle, as it is my backup.

:screwy:

After I posted, I got to reading around, and learned great things about what is a proper and an improper posting. Great forum, I look forward to settling in.

I also drove around Bradley square mall, and they have large signage at every drive in entrance, except the entrance from the...ahem... "LOVELY" TL Lowry building.
