Thug down: motorcycle thief turns into a real-world ballistics test dummy

Yep sure was.  Uniformed cop sitting right there at the intersection during the robbery, if you watch the second video (8 minutes) it shows there's an undercover that shows up out of nowhere and a police van drives by all within seconds.  The thug was destined to get himself dead that day.

Was that a cop that stepped in and took the punk out? I couldn't tell.

I usually don't carry on my bike but that makes a good case to.

I always said if I got another street bike, I'd definitely carry.

There are people out there that will use their car like a weapon when they get made at a motorcyclist. Ask me how I know. One of the main reasons I decided I never want to ride a street bike again. heh. Edited by JohnC

Our days are numbered either way.

A fellow rider and Iron Butt master, John Ryan was killed today. Off topic but I met him once at a rally and we spoke for quite awhile and own the same bike. Saddens me to hear this and knowing that he was a very experienced rider.

I've never intentionally pissed off a cage driver off or had one get aggressive with me. I ride very defensively but way too fast for my own good. I stay clear of traffic and areas of congestion as much as I can.

I never imagined that some punk could attempt stealing the bike that I'm riding, once again I would try not to put myself in that predicament.

I could see someone coming up to me while filling my bike up at a gas station and robbing me though, that would be a good time to have my carry weapon on me.

"The thief later died of his wounds". DUH!! Out of an 8.33 minute video not a single person to include LEO (duty to act?) give this thug first aid. Did he get what he had coming and deserve to die? That's not for me to say. But that probably wasn't his first rodeo!

I'll answer that for you; yes, he absolutely deserved to die a painful death.  He attempted to take what was not his under threat of death to the victim.  Armed robbery should be punishable by death EVERY TIME!

Did he get what was coming? Yes sir, he effectively caught two bullets.

I can't speak for everywhere, and certainly not another country, but my department's "duty to act" involves requesting an ambulance. We are not medics (although some departments do have officers that are), and in this society there is too much liability to try and act as one. Edited by CCPT

you thinks it is getting bad here.  just go down south for a real look of the crap that is going on.  if we don't get our act right, this crap will be on us before we know it.  if you go to some of the major cities here it has all ready started.  if you don't carry a gun all the time you are just playing with fire.

Having been in that very neighborhood, I am sure the police are not trained for first aid.  They did what was required for their job....Bad guy makes the mistake of pulling gun in daylight...smoke him, then call someone to clean up the mess.

I never even seen an ambulance on scene even after 8 minutes! The "scene was secure" with police. I guess that's how some country's handle their waste.
