Range Peckers

AKA D!CK

I spent some time up at the Royal Blue range today.

As usual, I chose a range and removed a depressing amount of trash (a 40 gallon can overflowing & a pile of cardboard & plywood).  That I don't really mind so much.  Children will be children.

What REALLY pisses me off is A$$holz using liquor bottles as targets and leaving the bottom remains in the walk path for someone to impale themselves like stepping on a Punji Stick.

Some cretin left behind several of those on the 50 yd range in recent days.

D!CK!!!

I've seen some of my favorite fishing/walking trails I take my kids and dog to get thrashed up. I usually take a small thrash bag for our mess and fill it with whatever else will fit of other peoples/peckers thrash. Don't know why it chaps my hide so much when people litter or is inconsiderate that but it does.

John, they aint smart enough to comprehend anything. Those type of people live in filthy houses and drive cars full of trash. they are more than likely lazy too.

My car tends to stay full of trash but that's only because I refuse to throw it out the window.

Bert, if you live in Oak Ridge, why are you going to Royal Blue to shoot?

It's more than just shooting. When I am in the Cumberland Mountains, and in particular Royal Blue, I am home. My family started exploring and camping up there in the late '50s. My very earliest memories are in riding with Mom & Dad in a 48 Willy. They loved those mountains, and passed it on to me. Later, he was one of the great men who with Lee Aubury founded CORA, managed the property, put their names on a lease (eventually ~70000 acres) and later passed the land on to the state of TN &TWRA. TN later added the Sundquist unit and you know the area as the North Cumberland WMA .

So, I guess that the answer is "its a family thing". As for the trash, I am just doing what I do. Edited by R_Bert
