setup a new motion light in my back yard.

I have been meaning to setup some extra motion lights in my back yard but didn't know exactly were I wanted to put them.

So I built a free standing frame like this.

except I used two 2x4's for the base.  The base is 4 feet by 4 feet.

My upright is 10 feet.

It is amazingly stable, it would have to be tipped at least 45 degrees before it would even think about falling.

I wanted this one to be free standing, so I could move it around my yard to help determine the best placement of some motion lights.

I am using this light from amazon

solar motion, 64 LEDs and it light almost my entire back yard.  I is a small yard, but I was surprised at how well it did.

I need to go back and check the settings, as it is staying on longer then it should and I can't tell a different changing the lux from 1 to 4.

Only issue with this light, is it does not have an on off other then movement (not a big deal up on a 10 foot pole).  My other LED under my car port has a manually on switch which good if I am out there late at night.

I will try to remember to take a picture of my light stand tomorrow when the sun comes back up.

I might have to build me one more of these and that should do it, along with my flood lights that are on my house.

Here is my light stand so far.

I probably should have painted it but when I was building I was figuring it would be a temp pole.

I may go back and paint in in Red Wood like my picnic table.

Nice setup. I like hope you can move it around to find the best spot.

I bought this 60 led light at northern tools. It's not the same as yours.  http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200478116_200478116

I'm disappointed. It's plenty enough light for a doorway, stairs, or parking area, but it's not as bright as I had hoped.

That was my total plan, to move as needed.

That one looks just like my other one, http://amzn.com/B0052SF0LO

I have the one with 60 LED under my car port.

I found left and right is is very sensitive, but straight on it isn't very sensitive.  It bright enough for my car port.

I am planning 1 or 2 more for my back yard.

I am starting to think that one light is lonely up there.  I might consider making a T at the top and having 2 of these lights up there.

Or one on the back side and move it to the center of my back yard.
