The Affordable Health Care Tax

Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand the Supreme Court ruled the AHCA was a tax, not an insurance plan.

So when folks don't pay their tax under the guise of payment for premiums, then the 16000 newly hired IRS agents get to earn their pay...

What happens when you don't pay your taxes?

More importantly, what insidious power does the IRS have that no one does?

My bet is they will fast-track wage garnishments, bypass "working" with the criminal tax evader and simply send out notices to your employers.

Dems and Reps arguing over de-funding? Please, through wage attachment this tax program will be funded by anybody with a W2 income. When they run out of W2, look out all you 1099s - they're coming after you next.

Technically, the individual mandate, or the penalty one would pay to not have insurance, was deemed a tax.

Either way, if one cannot afford either I'm sure the goverment (us) will eventually pay it.

It'll only go until the money runs out. That's what it was designed for. The IRS is a political arm to collect and redistribute

the misery. Nothing has changed, except the bar has been raised for their accounts receivables.

They add the fine/tax to your income tax. If you overpaid, it will be deducted. If you owe, it will be added to the negative balance.

So we can assume your fine/tax will be collected in the same way as your income taxes are.

As folks refuse to comply, trust me, they will pass more laws and regulations to enforce this tax/fine collection down the road.

Right now, they won't be too hard lined because they got to get folks liking this crap, but once this socialist health care system is built, they will enforce it via the IRS.

Except that ACA apparently bars tax liens or pay garnishment, or any criminal penalty for not paying tax. For now, of course.

Law abiding citizens will comply, others won't. Sort of like gun laws, eh?

That was my point. For now.

I don't really view the ACA as a constitutional law based on them labeling a fine a tax, etc.

More on that later. ;)

Yeah.  Sure.  The original income tax was voluntary, limited to 5% of income at most, and affected only the rich.

Government's purpose is to enforce laws and prosecute the bad guys.

What happens when law-abiding folks follow the law?

They are not subject to the power of Government enforcement.

Government doesn't like that, so Government passes more laws and regulations to make it impossible NOT to break the law, thus creating more criminals

They want us to break the law, not to incarcerate, but with to punish financially with fines backed up with the underlying threat of jail time if we don't meekly hand over our EARNED income.

I think Chief Justice Roberts was winking his eye during the process. There will be more to this once other

lawsuits make their way to the Supreme Court, if I read that earlier stuff correctly. I'll try to do some digging

between the plumbing day around my house and shooting my new toy. :D

IIRC, the fine in the first year is about $100 per person.  The fine in the second year is over $300 per person.  The fines really kick in in the third year (into the thousands).

If I recall correctly.  If true, they purposely delayed the pain - as just about every mandate in Obamacare.

2014: $95 per adult or 1% of family income

2015: $325 or 2%

2016: $695 or 2.5%

2017 forward: increases by inflation rate or 2.5% and the maximum penalty per family is capped at no more than 300% of the minimum penalty

there will come a time when the people will not take this any more.  things will get bad real fast.  at this time we got 50% of the people working and supporting the other 50%.  the other 50% about 40% of them are dead beats just living off the workers.  there will come a time when the workers will rise up to stop giving away their hard earn money to dead beats.  or,,,,the system as we know it now will crash.  and the way it is looking the system is crashing.

You suppose they'll have the website working by 2017?

National health care by then. No need to do anything then 'cept wait in lines and die sooner, unless you can pay in full out of pocket.

i have been wondering one thing about all of this. When the Supreme Court Ruled on this Bill/Law that ruled on the original Bill the way it was written at that time as being upheld. Since then Obama has made about 17 different changes and alterations to the bill which has made the bill much different than the way it was written originally. Why can't it be challenged with the new changes in the Supreme Court and see if it still is approved again by the Justices with it being re written with the changes Obama has made to it.....Just wonder if someone may have any ideas?
