Fisher house is paying soldiers' death benefits

This is a great example of why my wife and I have supported Fisher House with our time and donations for near 20 years.  :usa:

Fisher House has one of the lowest – if not the lowest – ratio of overhead versus money donated. 96% of donations actually go to supporting those in need and only 4% in overhead to run the organization.

Unlike some other non-profit who hires big-name celebrities to make TV commercials asking for money.   Yes I'm talking about Wounded Warrior Project.  WWP raised $74 million in contributions for 2011 and then spent $57 million (77%) on administration, staff and marketing. The WWP Director was paid over $300,000.00 in 2011.  That means less than $17 million (22%) of the $74 million WWP raised in 2011 actually went to wounded warriors - - - the rest went to the "Project."

Love the way the article made it sound like Obama administration made the contact to Fisher House to get this going. On Megan Kelly's show last night she interviewed the CEO of Fisher House. He said that Joe Manchin was the one who contacted him to get this going. I couldn't find a clip of the interview but he is a link to Manchin's web site describing this.  http://www.manchin.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=148d4141-21b8-48d2-a842-0b3773f6a5ec

I will be sending a donation to the Fisher House. Hope other will also. :usa:
