HCP RENEWAL?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)
I just completed my form and called too ask a question at my local DL office. they said i would have to come down to get my picture taken again. I reminded them it was a renewal but they said it didn't matter. Have any of you run into this? Edited by Randall53

I renewed first of the year and didn't have to.

I renewed last month and didn't have to

I think it has to do with the length of time between renewals/pictures. I had to renew my driver's license picture last year because they said it was more than 10 years old. Probably not a bad idea but annoying nonetheless.

The only reason I thought it strange is because Nashville said I had plenty of time to mail it in, then decided to do it at the Dl center a couple of miles away and they said I would need a new picture. Oh well, no harm done. It's on its way to Nashville and that chore done for another four years.

I just got my renewal notice.  I could fill out form and mail in a check but if I did not get the new HCP by the time mine expired I could not carry.  However if I went to DMV and paid they take a new photo and give you a receipt.  You can continue to carry with the receipt.  I opted to go to

the DMV since I had to renew my DL as well.

They sent me the receipt in the mail but in true government fashion, the permit itself turned up less than a week later.

If you mail it in, can you use a money order instead of a check?

You can,

I used a usps money order.
