Property Owners Being Kicked Off Federal Land During Slimdown

Recommended Posts

It's stories like this that is making me angrier and angrier as this "shutdown" thing drags out. If they have enough rangers to enforce blockades on Federal property, why can't they keep the same rangers on duty to keep the parks open? I'm beginning to think the National Park Service is being run by a bunch of bully thugs. I guess many of the individual rangers are "just doing their jobs" but the guys giving the orders?..not so much!

We need to find an articulate member from here to make a video for youtube that begs all Americans to stand there ground and not give in to the US government trying to use scare tactics to get the People to OK a blank check on already out of control Government spending. If 1/3 of the voters wrote their congressman and the POTUS via email and stood their ground and said this is not going to work, we would see some results.

The phrase "Sorry, we're following orders" tells me they must be some of those essential employees. Essential?

Following orders? During a so-called shutdown? This will backfire. And I hope more people remember how they

were treated by the government employees. When they remember how they treated us, and they end up without

that job, they had better shut up, because they made their bed, not me.

Sounds like a cake or death moment to me. Private enterprise funds the federal government. Shut down enough

of it and, well, Barry, you can have your cake or death moment, politically speaking, of course.

He isn't making any friends by his antics.

Sally Jewel, CEO of REI is the Secretary of the Interior.    Pass the word!

Unless something comes out that says her hands were tied on this, it looks like our days of buying from REI are over, over, over.

Oddly, this is a link to the REI blog as we faced a parks closure in 2011 (wasn't that on Obama's watch, too?)

I quote:

This could qualify as America's Worst Idea: The National Park Service, due to an impending government shutdown, is preparing to lock the gates, literally, and block public access from the country's greatest natural and historic treasures.

Sally Jewell is the former CEO of REI. Pedantic point aside, if Jewell is behind this thuggery, I'll be both surprised and disappointed. She's as liberal as a liberal thing that turned left while driving on the left side of the road, but she has been a strong supporter of the national parks and about encouraging people to get outdoors into nature. From what I understand, she's not a very good politician and is rather ineffectual in Washington. I highly suspect someone else (eh hem..her boss) is pulling these strings.

Oh....do I see a patsy in the making?

I wish the people who are falling for this crap could understand just how cynical Obama is being and how stupid he thinks they are.

Withdrawing services is just that. Taking an active role to punish people is... Well, I know I'm preaching to the choir here.
