Another open-air memorial in the Washington area is closed and barricaded off: the Iwo Jima Memorial, just across the bridge from D.C. in Rosslyn, Virginia. A source sends along this picture of the barricade set-up at the memorial, which is also called the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial:

GOOD for them.  I have NEVER EVER disrespected the President of the United States, Nixon, Carter or Clinton but Barry is an asshole...

Everything I have read indicates thet the administration is going out of its way to make things lok worse to citizens in an effort to get us to push our congressmen...I saw where there is a pulloff on the highway even that was closed by rangers so people couldnt see Mt Rushmore...sheesh, theyre closing areas that shouldnt even be affected by the shutdown...

I figure on the TVA power or the interstate highway system to be closed next.

I told my wife if they don't open these war memorials something bad's gonna happen. It's total horse sh!t. they're fortunate WWII vets are elderly. But Vietnam vets are not nearly as old and have been disrespected since they were there. closing these memorials may be the breaking point.

Why not, they tried to close the ocean in Florida... Forget which thread here that link was under, but hilarious for them to even try and say no, you can't take your boat out to fish due to the shutdown.

The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban... of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.

Still there's enough blind robots who will only listen to some administration propagandist,(main stream news reporter) on BSNBC that will tell them it's all the republicans fault and they will believe it without question.

I agree how much further can they push before America says enough

They gonna keep pushing their commie agenda down our throats until we like. Like 6.8 says, American people should have already been fed up. Too many people still have their head stuck in the sand, and don't have a clue.

It's not sand that they have their heads stuck in.

Sooner or later, enough people will decide it's time to band together and possibly pay the ultimate price to fix what they consider broken. Or not.

I would like to see us fix some of the problems in 2014, the problem is who do we get to fix them? The same ol butt kissers and back scratchers, on new butt kissers and back scratchers?

At least now some folks are beginning to see what the Gov. really thinks of its' Vets. I'm a 60% perm. disabled

'Nam vet. The VA will shut off disability compensation by end of Oct.

That's gonna be a real hardship to lots of Vets. What they tend to, or like to forget, is that if not for the Vets, Congress/

Pres. would be speaking German or Japanese.

Since my Army days I've been screwed by the Gov., VA in particular, more times than I can count. The beat goes on.

The USA is going to hell in a handbasket.
