Does anyone know if golden pond target range at lbl is open?
I know most of lbl is closed, but heard this might still be open.

That's a good question. I'm thinking since it requires maintenance (port-o-johns and trash pick up) they'd close it up. Might try to call the park rangers. I'd think they'd still have LE working out there even with the shutdown.

Well, technically yes, but you can still drive through there and the range is right off the main highway, which isn't closed.

I guess if there is no park rangers there is no one to keep you from shooting?

Law enforcement (Rangers) are still on duty. That's how they make sure the park stays "closed". I volunteer with the USFWS and I'll get in touch with the Warden I do my service work with and see about the range.

The dispatcher may be out of work, but there is no phones in the cars. I guess ( I will deny saying this) you could just go on and do ass you wish, even knowing the park is closed. The main highway (The Trace) remains open because it is a state highway.
