I went yesterday to finish the second part of my HCP certification. I took the course about a month ago, and finally got a chance to go to the Dept. of Safety yesterday. I wasn’t sure how it all worked, but I was surprised to find out that I had to go to another place to get finger printed.:P So the DMV gave me a letter with a number to call, I called it and they put my name in some system, and told me to wait 24 hours before I went to get finger printed. So I did that today.:D It was electronically done, and to bet it all, the closet place to me to get it done was a UPS store. Go figure:shrug: . I was expecting to go to my local PD, but once again I was wrong.

So it’s finally done, and I’m on the waiting period.

The fingerprinting was done in the UPS Store here as well. I drove 45 minutes to have it done, and it took a total of 2 minutes! Anyway, congrats on the last step!

Woot, mine came in the mail today. Some of you already know that as I was diplaying it proudly at Big Ed's. ;) It took exactly 5 weeks from fingerprinting to receive the license.

Some of you may remember when I made this post initially. And if you remember it, you've probably already guessed what I got in the mail today!!!

That's right, I'm official now. 5 weeks and 1 day.

Alright I noticed a pattern of the people getting their permits on here recently and they have moved from west to east. Hopefully since you got yours and we applied around the same time mine will be here soon. In any case congrats.

Where was the first place you carried today? :)

Weigles to pay for gas.....It felt odd, and getting used to one is even more weird. I'm looking at different holster's, but for now, I have a Galco High ride OWB that I tried at 3 and 4 o'clock today. And I can def. see where a good belt comes in handy. At first, I tried using my usual dress belt, but then put on a little thickier and a little wider belt. I could tell a hugh diff.

First time is always fun. I felt like I had a big neon sign strapped to my head that said "GUN!!!" However, even with minimal concealment, it is amazing how few people notice a person carrying. Shoot, I've heard people tell me they have open-carried and not have people notice. Many people lack situational awareness. Bad for them, but it makes the big neon sign go away quick.

You need to look at different belts now. A Garrison belt of 1.5" in width will secure your holster buch better. It will make your pistol more concealable as it will lhold it closer to your side. Less wiggle. They come in a variety of different materials, colors and buckle types so you shouldn't have a problem with the belt. Just make sure that your slacks have large enough belt loops.
