So I got my dad a '74 Remington model 760 for Father's Day. What new scope should we get him for his birthday? Price should be under $200 if possible.

Used to be made in the USA.  Most of their lower tier scopes are made offshore now days.  Much to our chagrin...

I have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 on my 30-06. Super clear, BDC is dead on, and on 14x I can easily see bullets holes on paper at 200 yards.
Nikon has a rebate going on now for some of their scopes too.

I ended up buying the Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40. The price was right and the glass was really clear. I'm sure he'll be pleased. It's the first new scope he's had since like 1975 :)
