i'll freely admit it. i know NOTHING about shotguns except how the gauge numbers work. but i have been thinking about getting one for around the house.

Stoeger P350 pump 12gauge

So what do you guys know about them? i might be able to pick one up used cheap, (or at least i think its cheap) $150. here are the specifics i know about it.

12 gauge, 28 inch barrel, black syn stock w/ the regular shape( i don't know what its called), shoots up to a 3 1/2 shells. has all 5 chokes that came w/ it. supposedly it has only had about 4 boxes shot through it.

i looked at some online and new they run $300+ new.

is this something i'll be able to add or modify easily down the road? i.e. change the barrel for a shorter one, put a different stock, etc....

everything i looked up said the magazine capacity is 4+1, i thought you were only allow 2+1 in the field? and is that 4+1 capacity determined w/ what size shells? i was under the assumption that most pump shotguns could hold like 6 or 7 shells w/ the plug removed.

any help would be much appreciated

If you can, shot it before you buy it.

Some people have had problems with it feeding 2 shells at once.

And report it hard to feed 3.5" shells.

Other than that all other report seem to be good.

I'd personally go for a used 870, Just about anything you want for one.

And parts wise they are pretty cheap to buy.

With the Stoeger P350 pump 12gauge you can't short stroke it or it will jam (don't think about it perverts). I have found them new for 299 so 150 is not bad, I would also shoot it before I bought it. Read that if you have short arms it could be a problem when ejecting shells at a fast pace.
