New rifle mimics machine gun's rapid fire -- and it's legal

Slide Fire, based in Moran, Texas, plans to sell a semiautomatic rifle that mimics the rapid fire of a machine gun and is also fed bullets from a belt, which provides a huge capacity for ammunition -- potentially thousands of rounds. Too cool

It takes a lot of practice to hit what your aiming at, I didn't like the feel of the upper moving back and forth and trying to look through sights, I used one as a test mule for my shrike to break it in before I moved it over to my M16..

It gets cool points for NFA approving it and slide fire marketing it for $300 bucks.

You can buy from PSA, a Ares MCR for $2700, complete lower for $300 and a slide fire stock for another $300 and have $3300 in it.

I'm able to aim pretty well using a red dot sight with the one I fired.  I can see how iron sights would be more of a problem.

I can't hit squat, with my right arm being the way it is, but my son can do the goods with our Slide Fire. I say

more power to them and laugh at Henry Waxman all the way to the bank.

Hey, they beat 15-20K for one of the continually depleting quantity of machine guns. The first time I tried to cycle

that Slide Fire, I got a double tap out of it. The first time my son tried, he dumped the mag. It was awesome. He

controlled it better than I thought he would, also. It is what I definitely call innovation, and, for what it is, it is very

affordable.

 

Why is this in the Class III area?  This is for the other guys money. :D

Those CNN SOBs completely lie in their opening statement - when they say machine guns are illegal for most people.  Thats factually untrue.  In fact Machine Guns are legal to own for for most people, since the same 4473 questions used when buying a semi are used for the check.   The only things standing in the way are the $200 tax, local regulatoins and LEO approval (sans trust).    I sent CNN a note requesting them to correct the article - we'll see if the commies bother

If you get one of those 3 gun triggers from Giessle that allows for a shorter pull to fire and reset, I think all that jumping around would be much more minimal and aim would be improved.

 

This is a route I'm going to take with my Colt so I can bump-fire it easier. :up:

The slide fire seems to work pretty good on the first shot. After that, well  lets just say/ no telling where the other 29 go. You better get a good stance and lean forward or you will be dancing all over the place. It is like Moe on the three stooges when he gets an electric shock. LOL

So the modification to make a standard AR belt fed costs $5k ?!   As far as I can tell, its their bumpfire stock and some mod for the belt.  I have one of the stocks, and its a neat product, but I can't see the price difference here as being worthwhile.  For that matter, a $200 or whatever it is for a 100 round mag and another $300 for the stock seems more sane.   More than 100 rounds fired at that rate thru a standard AR is going to be pretty hard on it anyway -- a belt of 1k rounds would destroy the gun most likely...
