I like it, and $385 is a good deal on any AK these days. The MAK90 is well known for quality workmanship and a good trigger. My advice is to learn to love the stock. If you switch it out you will end up changing all kinds of things to get the "right" number of USA made parts, which means you will have to dump the fine Chinese trigger. If the thumbhole is a bit the wrong shape for your hand, just file it out and revarnish.

In regards to the parts count, who may I ask will ever know, and who will ever want to check a firearm for compliance. Just wondering?

Good deal at $385.00 - I would have been on that. The Tapco G2 trigger group is a VERY good, practically drop in unit (hint - get the retainer plate instead of using that damn shepherd's crook retainer - ask me how I know!). G2 FCG counts as 3 U.S. parts. You should be able to have your choice of stocks then - K-Var has good U.S. ones (Warsaw length and Nato length). I put a G2 FCG and a K-Var Nato stock set on my SAR-1 - trigger is so much better than the one it came with. Also have the G2 in my Yugo.

A quick internet AK compliance search will let you know how to remain compliant.

Best of luck to ya,

Mike
