Its the fittings that I got to connect to the hard plastic hose line. The set up was a old style and now with the new style connection I can't seem to get the right parts to work to fit this hose... It is a tad small to get a good clamp on the hose... I'm so over and done trying I just need someone to know what they are doing :-( thanks

Compression fittings are normally used on the line that runs from the hot water line to the kitchen sink over to the dishwasher.  That line can be copper, plastic, or could be a braided hose.  You'd use compression fittings on the copper or plastic but you may need an adapter if its a braided hose, depending on what kind of fittings are on it.

Look under the sink where the line actually connects to the supply. You might be able to remove it from there and replace the whole line using one of the newer flexible silver metal braided lines. Those are much better than a compression fitting. Make sure to turn off the water first.
