Last year, i sold all of my ak guns, mags and ammo. Sellers regret forces me to consider .556 and AR mag platforms. I picked up the Sig556, but need something a step closer to an AK. I always liked the Galil, but I think mags are not normally AR, Any decent Galil clones that take AR mags? Or maybe another .556 with AR. Ag compatibility? Thx! mark

Pretty sure a 223 Saiga can be fitted with a magazine well to use AR mags. They are easy to convert into a pistol grip configuration like an AK should be. You can convert them for under $200 in less than an hour with no special tools.

Just curious, why an AK in 223 when an AR is more accurate and under normal conditions just as reliable?

If you want 5.56 and for it to take AR mags, why not just get an AR?
Saiga 223 is what you want I think.

I have a few ARs. ;)

On AKs, I don't feel as guilty about adding optics to reach full potential about accuracy. Plus, the kids prefer AK derivatives. ;)

You cannot use AR mags in the .223 Saiga. But you can modify Galil mags to work in the .223 Saiga. Also the german variety .223 mags can be modified but are very hard to find.
