Good air pistol?

The American Classic.

Yep, if you don't mind pumping each time up to ten strokes, it's great. 'Bout 65 clams.

I have the black model,

so it's identical, but not quite so "classic" as the brown one I guess. :)

What kind of accuracy at what distance.?

I can hit pigeon in the head at 25 feet braced on something, and with 5 pumps it goes right through it.

Like all air pistols, rifles, impact shifts pretty dramatically with distance, and with a variable pump model will vary depending on fps you get with x number of pumps. This pistol is max 600 fps with 10 pumps.

Is that a rifle or pistol? Also what's a good pump air rifle?

What do you mean by "pump" when it comes to air rifle? And what do you mean by "good"?

Most  are single cock either by break barrel or underlever. The highest end ones you use axillary pump to load an internal bladder for more than one shot at a time.

Daisy still makes the traditional pump BB gun, and Red Ryder lever action, if that's what you mean, both around 350 fps, bb's only.

There are also CO2 air pistols and rifles, mostly lean more toward "toy" than "weapon".

Air rifles go from $25 and up ...  single cock with 1,000-1400 fps is $90-$500, depending.

They also come in two main standards, .177 or .22 caliber.

Quite a bit more complex question than "what's a good air pistol I can get at Walmart", I'm afraid, and not sure there's really a "good" air rifle there at all.

It's a rifle, that I paid almost $70 ( what would $70 in 1968 dollars be in 2013 dollars?) for back in the late 60s...brand new, at a Western Auto, I believe. I've had to reseal it once, but it shoots hard. Obviously, I think it is a good one. I also own a Gamo that is scoped. The Gamo is a break barrel action type, and shoots well also. Both "make noise" when reloading for the next shot.
