Companion Organization of NRA - different mission, same goal

Not to over-bibliocize this - but in wisdom literature, you can look to the Christian Scriptures:  Israel asked for a King - their God said, "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you don't want a King."  Israel essentially demanded, "Yes, give us a King!!"  - Israel got their kings and -through good and bad kings, Israel paid the price for giving their collective representation over to a King.

In societies' desire for safety and security, masses of people are asking for a King - more rule of law - to keep them safe.  Many of us are responding... "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you do not want a King."

Which made me think of this: While the NRA is arguably the most effective lobby for protecting a free USA, I feel like we need a counterpart that is solely dedicated to cultivating a wise, caring, and aware voting public. - one that does not get caught up in the fray - but focusses on its mission of cultivating a freedom-loving public.

For the record: I can't see this being successful if it is tied to a certain religion - or anything that divides or alienates any major US demographic. I don't mean to offend; I simply think that without success here, religion will eventually be outlawed, so... for any of us who may be religious, if it feels like bedding down with enemies - it can be done now in a caring environment,... or religion can wait and be savaged and torn to shreds later.  As I recall, there are plenty of examples of exercising such wisdom in the scriptures.

Thoughts?  Does it exist?  What can we do?

I agree completely. What we need to do is form a group, collect a lot of money and move to K Street as lobbyists. I will lead the group. Ground rules:

There will be only one religion, my religion.

If anybody deviates from this religion, they are to be labeled as Muslim, Communist liberals or Neo-Conservatives Nazis.

Convince public that any deviation from this religion will lead to a slippery slide to no religion at all.

I’ll buy a whole lot of Senators and Congressmen to vote for my religion to be the state religion.

I am injecting a bit of sarcasm here because this is the way any concerted national effort will end up. The media will seize on it as a political “hot potato” and the politicians will use it as a political tool.

Probable result:

Republicans would vote against it because of Fundamentalist base.

Democrats would vote against it because they don’t want religion and state mixed.

Together they would pass a law to banish/ban any and all religion!

This is the American way of solving problems.

God gave a warning then about people wanting Kings instead of wanting him. That's always been the problem for every generation since the Kings, we've wanted everything else besides God. When we return to God our country and our lives will change for the better. We just need to trust God. People are beginning to realize that Obama is not the Messiah. Edited by ThePunisher
