colt le6920 and eotech?

I'm looking at an eotech for my new colt le6920. Any advice on model and best place for the price? Anyone know if they sell refurbished?

I have been thinking about one myself.  The best deal that I have found is @ Midway:

 

Eotech 512 @ $425 & free shipping + I have coupon code for $30 off from Midway = $395 delivered. 

 

Amazon has some deals as well, but the above is the best I have found, I have been thinking of pulling the trigger for a month now.  Ebay has some too, but I am to concerned about the knockoffs risk on ebay!  Used for items like this is not my preferred cup of tea.

If an EOTech is what you want, then get an EOTech. However, I am simply stating that I researched a lot on the issue, and decided that an Aimpoint was for me. Aimpoint M2 for me with a LaRue Tactical QD mount. Research them if you haven't, if you have and just want an EOTech, go for it!

The Pro wasn't as available when I purchased my M68 (CompM2). I'd probably do that route now.

Whether you're going to prefer the Aimpoint or Eotech is largely a function of how your eyes and brain work... that is to say, it's going to be very, very "personal".  You really need to try to get some rounds downrange through each before you plunk down money.  Both sights and both companies are outstanding.

 

That being said, I'm a huge Eotech fan.  If I were going into harm's way on foreign soil whre resupply is questionable, the incredible battery life of the Aimpoint might sway me, but for my purposes, the Eotech gets my bullets on target faster and more surely.  I turn the sight on every month or so (if it hasn't been used), and if the battery is at 20%, it tells you... then you swap out the battery.

 

Which brings me to my next point.  OP, I highly recommend coming up with another C-note and buying the EXP line. The 123A battery lasts much, much longer than AAs, and the battery is held transversely... which makes for much less wear and tear on the battery and the contacts.  (Traditionally the Eotech's weak point).

I use my 6920 as my primary HD gun.  I leave mine on 24/7, as there isn't an auto-shutoff on an Aimpoint.  

 

At the current power setting, I've got about 7-8 months on a battery, maybe longer.  I'll swap it out at six months, though.

 

I run a Micro T-1.

I like Aimpoints just fine, but I love Eotechs, especially the XPS's.

*shrug* as mentioned try shooting through them both prior to plunking down the coin, I'm personally quicker on target & more accurate engaging moving targets w/Eotech's but you might not notice any difference.

lots of copies on ebay that are made overseas.  go to their web site to see how to tell the real ones from the knock offs.  both the aimpoint and eotech are good and will get the job done.
