I was messin' around on JPP this past Sunday and managed to bring a few LM to the boat.  This was the best of the bunch...

A plastic worm was the ticket.  Caught out of a brushpile on a main lake point in about 3 feet of water.

The bass is JPP have always loved the plastic worm. My personal favorite is the Red Shad Powerworm. Yummm!

Nice fish! Has the draw down begun? Probably still a little early for that, but that's always a good time for Priest.

Thats a nice one for sure. If my son -in-law ever gets some time off from work I gonna dust off My Skeeter bass boat I have out in the garage and hit the lake for some Fall bass fishing. If he can't get off I'm going alone which I don't really prefer but I'm going Fall Bass fishing. I hand pour all my own soft plastics like worms., lizards, craws and many other baits. Berkley Red Shad Power worms  are good baits but I like mine better.......lol...........

I have been thinking about getting into pouring some soft plastics after my favorite soft plastic company went out of business this year. Bersa did you buy your molds or make them? I was thinking I could try and copy the worm that is no longer made and make them myself so I still have them to fish with. I am hitting up the lake this afternoon with some guys from another site for a little kayak bass fishing, I have not been on the water is a couple weeks so it's a shot in the dark if I catch anything. I am going to guess that fish is around the 4lb mark.

I bought my molds but I have been doing this for about 18 years now and I might have the molds you looking to try and make already on one of my shelves. If you still have any and can take a pictures of them and send me the pictures I can tell you right quick if I have the molds or not. You can send the pictures to my email address.

Alright I still have a bag or two laying around. They were made by Get Five baits, and called the Dinero. I thought I might be able to do some type of plaster cast and then use that to make some.

This time of year I like to "slow roll" a spinnerbait, and fish a craw colored "pig and jig". Kentucky Lake is my spot of choice!

Juice,

Are you fishing the Jefferson Springs Kayak event? See you there if you are. I'll be in the red Pescador 12.

I will be there, I am using one of midtnkayaks boats. I want to see what it's like to fish out of a real fishing kayak.

1. The lake level seemed a lower than it was two weeks go by about a foot.

2. Yep, fishing plastics is my forte (worms, lizards, creatures, grubs, etc.) on various presentations (texas rig, carolina rig, jig head, weightless) and they have brought more bass to the boat for me than any other lure type, regardless of the lake.  This year, I've been consciously using cranks, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits more often in order to branch out.  This season I've caught more crankbait fish than ever.  But danged if I cannot catch a spinnerbait fish except on Lake Guntersville even though I've been at this since 1977.

3. We did not weigh the fish in the pic, but we thought she would be somewhere around 4 pounds.

4. I've determined that the fish in JPP are just crazy.  We were in a cove choked with bait and would see the bass literally come flying out of the water busting the shad (like trout do).  I've never seen this behavior on any other lake around here.  Another example: a few years ago we were in the very back of Hamilton Creek, in the very back of a cove fishing a grass edge in 1 foot of water.  People were swimming about 20 yards away.  I caught a 4+ pound smallmouth there off a 7 inch worm in six inches of water.  Crazy!
