Maybe this has been posted before, I cant find it, if so write it off to "the aging process".

1. Navy Yard Gunman had an AR-15 and got through Security with it.

2. Navy Yard Gunman didnt have an AR-15 or get through Navy Yard Security, he shot a LEO and took his.

3. Navy Yard Gunman didnt take an Ar-15 off a LEO he shot.

4. Navy Yard Gunman didnt have an AR-15 at all.

4.1 Navy Yard Gunman had an AR-15 Shotgun (NOTE: Thanks to Jonnin for the correction)

5. Navy Yard Gunman tried to purchase an AR-15 prior to shooting up the Navy Yard.

6. Navy Yard Gunman didnt try to purchase an AR-15, but he test fired one at a range.

7. Navy Yard Gunman didnt have an AR-15 because common sense gun control laws prevented him from purchasing one.

All I can say is "Good job leftists, now that you have proven that your gun control laws work, completely saving everyone and everything in the Navy Yard, you can stop now, your a success".

I think I should add that I have read every single one of these comments in various articles, with this being the latest.

Sure seems like it would just be easier to pass a law banning crazy people, since laws work so well.

Thanks, had to make the correction above

They don't have to prove their gun control measures work. I know it is repetitive, but if the gun control laws were

for safety from crime, they would not be backing this agenda. It has nothing to do with safety, and if it did, it would

be only for the government's safety, not ours.

There doesn't seem to be any truth to that at all. There seems no reason he couldn't have bought an AR at the VA gunstore that sold him the shotgun, just a mystery as to why he chose not to.

I think he chose the particular guns, based on what he thought he could get the mileage out of, and planned his

attack well. The AR isn't the be all- end all gun for every season, or reason.

Well, he shot an AR at the store, maybe he just didn't like it for whatever reason.

Ultimately, we're probably ascribing too much "thinking" to this particular lunatic, as he was much less methodical than most. Never have heard how many shotgun rounds he had, birdshot or buck, etc -- sounds like he may not have been thinking much beyond simple concealment as to why he chose the shotgun and getting his hands on the pistol or two was as much luck as anything,
