Alan West. The next POTUS?

I believe Alan West is preparing for a run for President. Here is why I think so.

West is showing up more and more across mainstream media. Both in the Right supporting and Left Supporting.

Everything he is saying on his webpage is an outright attack on the current administration. No lies, all correct, well thought out and completely understandable. West is no dumb man, he could speak above everyone's head if he wanted to, instead he is making clear statements that everyone can understand. Those "nails in the coffin of liberalism and Socialism", he is hammering them in. He is calling out Obama at every opportunity.

He is slamming the mainstream Republicrats. Just as it is true that extending the implementation of Obamacare would do nothing except delay the inevitable, (Obama said he will go forward anyway, which is why states that do not setup their own exchanges will get Federal Exchanges), West says the same thing. Except he says to the Republicrats, if your going to delay for a year, cut all exemptions, completely defund the program, Delay the employer mandate until 2015, rescind all 2000 granted waivers and exemptions, including those for Congress and make subsidy verification for anyone entering into the exchanges as well as cut finding for 16,000 additional IRS agents. At the same time he supports AHCRA. A real alternative to Obamacare.

He is already calling out Bill and Hillary Clinton. Pointing out Bill Clintons abandonment of US Troops in Mogadishu. Hillary's costly failed Hillarycare (Which we now have but only worse)

He is being asked (No begged) by thousands of people to run. And he isn't commenting. Not one word. Thats a dead giveaway right there.

Every post (By him) on his FB Promotional Page doesn't garner hundreds of comments, it's thousands, and from both sides, positive and negative. From comments it is clear people who vote for the left see him as a threat. Good.

The movie that came out in 2011, Fear of a Black Republican is being used and supported by West. It should, he helped make the movie.

He is raising fund's. Through his Conservative Poll (Which is going to raise money and give him a base list of Conservatives). and through his "Next Generation" TV, among others.

Does it even need to be said what his stance is on a strong National Defense, securing our borders and outlining who our enemies are?

West is going to run for President and is in the prep stages, no doubt about it. Having looked at the list(s) of potential candidates our Left wing press would select for us, I see the same old names. Ryan would be taken apart by Clinton, Christie, forget it, he is another Republicrat, as far as Ted Cruz goes, any claimed Constitutional Conservative who would vote for Cruz for President, is claiming wrong. The Constitution cannot be amended, at will, by a bunch of sitting Congressman. And under the Constitution, Cruz is not eligible. Not until the Supreme Court makes a decision, which probably wont be anytime soon. Ann Coulter says he may not be eligable, but we should not prevent him from running on a "technicality". Ms. Constitution herself calls not being Constitutionally eligible a technicality. What else in the Constitution is a technicality of convenience? The words of the so called "birther" movement are coming back to bite them in the azz by the looks of the thousands of articles claiming that Cruz is not eligible and the Right is showing where they stand. (only a technicality). Of the current crop, Cruz has the best chance of winning the nomination. If he gets by and does, Ill have no choice but to vote for him. The day the words "We should not defund Obamacare" came out of Ryans mouth, regardless of the context, he gave up any chance of being President. Plus, his performance against Biden was pretty darn poor. Hilary will take him apart as well. Biden is going to run on the Left, but he is nothing more than window dressing and even the left knows it.

The person who is conspicuously absent from every list, no mention in any of the articles of the LW press, is Alan West.

Building funds, expanding his base, making more and more national news, taking surveys on conservatives, building his presence on social networks, mass media and his own Web TV show which may go live (On TV), making major statements on Obama's every action, attacking both Clintons from everything past and present. if West isn't running for President, it would sure surprise me. And the left fears him. If they didnt, his name would be added to the list of Republicrats they have built to go against Hilary.

I'm all in for West. If the mainstream Republicrats push him out (And he allows it), or decides not to run,  then Ill vote for whoever has the nomination and best chance of removing the leftists from the Oval Office. Until then, I am 100% for West and could care less for the moment what the bumbling idiot in the White House does. The US citizenry voted for him, they got him, and now they are whining about it. And we are stuck with him until at least the next Presidential election. Forget Impeachment, Congress is too cowardly to act.

West "The Republic will survive this, it's just going to hurt a lot getting there".

It will DEFINITELY surprise me if West doesn't run, and even more if he does and fails to win.

Ted Cruz is one from Texas that is warranting strong consideration for President. I believe we will have some good conservative candidates in 2016 to choose from without people saying none of the candidates are any good so I'm gonna sit this election out this time.

Well I am not going to sit ANY election out. But tell me (us) who are the strong Candidates. It is not Ryan, Christie, or any of the other 5 on those lists. And Cruz is not from Texas, he is (Was) a Canadian National and a month ago filed using the same exact rules established that Obama used. Cruz was born in Canada, of an US Citizen Mother and a Cuban father. Does not meet the requirements under the Constitution of Natural Born Citizen. How can people make a claim against the opposition, then when their prime Candidate comes under the same scrutiny all of a sudden say its only a technicality? Or claim something (over and over, on everything they believe) is not Constitutional, then claim we should ignore the Constitution because of a technicality?

Cruz has already waffled on Illegal aliens. (I am not going to call it immigration), this hold and attempt at defunding on the AAC has no teeth behind it and wont get past Reid anyway. And the argument that "you have to start somewhere" I keep hearing doesnt hold water. As soon as the House Votes and it gets implemented anyway, you have another victory for the left. The Republicrats already know they cant shut down the Government so since Friday its only been a "Partial shutdown" and a possible legislative action by Cruz himself to prevent a shutdown. And it seems people are conveniently ignoring the letter (statement) from Cruz about the Senate Majority Leader on Friday. His fellow Conservatives sure havent. Once Reid brings the bill to the floor, votes on removing de-funding and takes a vote, its over and Reid and his cronies have another win. A fillibuster wont work, it didnt work under the Anti 2A Bills and it wont work here, Reid will end it.

If they are going to go all in then they need to go ALL IN. Shut everything down. Make it hurt, if only for a day. Long enough to force their hand. But all we are getting is waffling.

BTW, it would seem the Presidential Campaigns kicked off months ago. We havent even got to the mod terms yet, Lists of Candidates, Campaigning without saying it. I would say there is no way possible a Democrat could win regardless of who is running, but Obama pulled off the impossible, won a second term with a failing economy. I will certainly vote for Cruz if he ends up being the candidate, but until the Supreme Court makes a decision on what Constitutes a natural Born Citizen, the Cruz, like Obama, is ineligible. Unfortunately Ill be forced into compromising my principles for the sake of keeping out another Socialist.

BTW,  anyone read this morning that Cruz wants the bill stripping Obamacare blocked (I suppose to make the left look like what they are) but that McConnel and Conryn both will not vote to block (Cruz's fellow Texas Senator) and both are lobbying their fellow Republican Senators to not block the bill. One Rep. Congressman stated yesterday (Forget which one), that the Senate vote will show Cruz to be a fraud, even though he (the Congressman) voted to pass the bill.

Bill will go before the Senate, Reid will strip the Bill of de-funding, call a cloture just like he did 3 or 4 months ago, fillibustering will fail and  they will vote, and Cruz will fail.

This is all about personalities, nothing else. The People be damned.

Bring on Alan West.

I knew I liked Allen back in 2010 when I saw his speech linked below.   I was surprised though that he lost his reelection run in 2012. He may be too conservative for some folks.   I'd vote for him in a heartbeat.

West lost that Election to voter irregularities. Proved that there were multiple votes by multiple voters. I believe one issue was he ran out of money and time (Maybe just time). Wasnt the State or someone going to make him pay for a recount out of his own pocket? (Campaign fund?).  I dont remember all of the details but did keep an eye on that election, I do know he had proven his point then said he was moving on.

I like Allen West but because scandal that resulted in his retirement from the military, he can't be elected President.  I don't disagree with what he did or why he did it, but the left would chew him up and spit him out over the mock execution of a POW.

I completely agree that under the constitution Cruz is less eligible than Obama...  Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Jason Chaffetz and Justin Amash are all on my 'hope they run list' right now.

I like Alan West too.  But have some concerns if he can be elected.  In the election of 2000, Al Gore failed to carry his home state of Tennessee, those electoral votes woud have put him in the Oval Office.  Former Sen. Bob Dole said, "If I win the popular vote but can't carry my home state of Kansas, I can't consider myself popular".  Romney didn't carry his home state of Mass.   Ryan didn't carry his home state of Wisconsin.  Which brings up that Alan West lost his Congressional seat in Florida in this past election.

I think the Republican party will produce another weak candidate in 2016 and people will begin to get a clue as to what's going on. It wasn't quite so obvious the last couple of cycles as there were not many good prospectives but the climate has started to put some in the light and they absolutely will not be allowed to succeed.

Make no mistake, both parties have their snouts deep in the trough and no one who would challenge that can be tolerated even if they are who we need to put the country back on track (Or at least prevent it from sliding over the cliff).

FWIW, I kinda keep an eye on the "natural born citizen" thing and it's far from settled for Cruz's situation. He was born a US citizen, not naturalized which is arguably the distinction.

In truth, it would probably have to go through the courts which would probably be something best avoided. And considering the lack of will to pursue all the irregularities in the past few elections, probably will be.

It's a tricky game to play. Unless Obamacare fails dismally, the mud may not stick to the Dems, they get to say "It would have worked but for those meddling republicans" and we get stuck with all the crappy bits that manage to stick around.

I don't have a good answer. It seems that there is no good outcome from this bill having passed in the first place and no likelihood of the perpetrators ever answering for their sins

I like him but his recent defeat is not a good sign.  It was darn close, so maybe... but still not a good sign.

Yes, Obamacare should be embraced fully and allowed to fail on its own merits now.  Dirty tricks like refusing to fund it looks childish or worse.   A %  based funding of everythign would send a damn clear message.....  once *everyone* and *all programs* get 10% of their needed budget by dividing the money in hand equally amongst those with a hand out, everyone will be mad as hell (both sides!) and maybe then the light would be seen.

Brothers of the Silk (Airborne) stick together. He's got my vote.. What he did in Iraq, might now have been right, but it helped him gain valuable intel and changed the tide of war in his AO. He was a ground commander and led from the front, his guys were dying and he responded. I would follow him versus some pencil dick risk assessing officer to hell and back.

I hope he does run. The third Black President would be
an improvement over Clinton and Obama. I've liked him
all along. Even though the Democrats will throw everything
at him, he can weather it better than most.

He lost in his house bid due to voter fraud, not gerrymandering.
He would have won that race otherwise. He ran out of time
with the court.

I'm not going to jump away from a Cruz run, either. His
citizenship is dual between Canada and the US. I don't
disagree with anyone challenging it, but I will accept he
isn't a foreigner with ties and obligation to Canada. That
wouldn't make him the perfect candidate, but all of his
other creds do.

The rest of the crowd is not acceptable.

The US Constitution has been destroyed by too many
others to worry about Cruz's eligibility. It is hanging on
by a thread.

We really need to do it or get off the pot, or our next action
will be hard on us all. You can't print money and wish things
away. We are literally on the edge and waiting to be pushed
over. There are a bunch of things we need to be agreeing
on and one of them is saving the republic intact with our
liberty remaining.
You can argue whether or not someone is eligible. That
argument was made and done. We just need to pick a
winner. Edited by 6.8 AR

Nope, I hate to say it but policy is NOT what will win this next Presidential election, the American people will vote in either a woman &/or a hispanic (a hispanic woman would be the perfect canidate) this time around, why you ask? Because it is "their turn to be POTUS" ... sad but that is probably what will happen, I can guarantee Hillary is very busy learning to speak Spanish.

Col. Allen West is  my 1st choice for President.

As far as Ted Cruz citizenship, IF the left put as much attention into obama's background we might not be in this situation.

West/Cruz 2016  :usa:

And it was the left who started the citizenship issue. One of Hillary's pols started it. No one on the right had anything

to do with it, at the beginning.

You may be right, Richard, but I am one of those who says survival is the only policy that might get someone elected.

Of course, the "American Idol" crowd may determine what you say will be the next POTUS.

Dangit, I wish you wouldn't have said that. Because in the back of my mind thats what I have been thinking (But trying to ignore my inner me and have faith in the voters who failed us so miserably in the past), It's time for a woman will be one of Clinton's major rallying cries because she has little else.  If it is West, unlike the needle d__ks who have been running in the last several elections, West will point out clearly her flaws, like the fact that she was an Attorney on the Nixon Impeachment hearings, submitted a falsified report to insure Nixon would be impeached and was censured, fired and nearly thrown in jail for it. Clinton has been ignoring the Constitution for 40 years. Hopefully it will be Clinton and West.
