I predict this does not get off the ground.

Everyone from Nashville and Chattanooga want it in the central area. People from east and west are being mum. Aside from mars mentioning a place east of Knoxville.

With that location one or two people got excited.

Assuming it is not a whole lot farther west than Nashville, I would be game. Yes, I am cheap and lazy. Deal with it.

Some very smart organizations have their conventions annually alternating among west, central, and east Tennessee.

But I'm getting the feeling that no one wants to drive more than 50 miles.

speaking of driving. Mars I am heading up to Marks here in a bit,

if your schedule permits it you ought to come on out. If'n you want to.

Wish I could come over Mike. But this is a hurry up and wait day. I have to wait on a phone call and then head up the opposite direction for a while.

I'll drive as far East as Knoxville, but holding it somewhere in central TN seems to be the best idea IMO.

I too will be excited to see how many actually show up. I've been involved in the beginning stages of 2 different forum GTG's and everybody is always excited about meeting everybody else they've made friends with on-line. Then somebody finally takes hold of the reins and a place to meet is set, and that's when the whinning begins. To some people it won't matter if the event is held one county over from them, they still won't make the drive. Best thing to do is plan it out centrally, and a lot of people will show up. Keep it the same place and time on the following events to come and more people will show up. Everybody else can either man up, or lick balls.

Looking at the map of TN, from Kingsport in far north east to Memphis in far south west, the Nashville area seems to be the most central location.

Oh yeah, providing work doesn't have an issue with me taking off (if it's during a week day), I'm more than willing to make the drive, and I feel confident that we'll have a good size car pool/caravan coming from the E. TN area. Phantom, you can still bring your small party!! For exchange of the back seat in your van, I'll pay your gas bill :D

I think we need some background information on outdoor ranges with camping/hotel facilities nearby from all three regions. TGO'ers from the respective regions need to research whether or not the facilities can be rented, if supervised, with how much the cost will be for the rental.

We need to set a date with ample time allowed for members to schedule time from work, if needed.

Once the facilities have been nominated, somebody needs to reconnoiter with a camera and post pictures, and, if possible, pictures of possible camping sites.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I'll come if child care is provided :D

Sure, we can provide child care, hmm, what's the dosage for kids? Up that and there's your child care..

:D:P:popcorn:

Just kidding..

Fellas, If you can find some where we can camp in east TN where there's no chance of a bear harassing us, I'm in.
