I know it's a lot of driving, but has anyone thought about organizing a big meet and shoot for everyone?I know that Tungsten has had something like this on tennesspeed and it has good turnout and just wondering what the interest here would be. Mid state area would make the most sense and there could be a cook out and swap meet or something if we could find a place. Small fee for each member would cover any facility fees and the food, maybe a few vendor raffles or giveaways (nothing class III ofc :2cents:)

So what does everyone think?

Given enough notice, and making it a yearly event might braw quite a few

members. Sounds like a great idea.

*In the interest of full disclosure I'm also the stupid jerk that lives about 40 minutes from Owl Hollow and has yet to make it to a meet down there.:2cents:

Sounds like a plan, so long as we plan it way ahead of time for the folks who'll be doing the driving.

I know that tennesspeed day is planned months in advance for it to work. I drove an hour and a half for last year's.....this is just to see if there was interest

We'd have more of an opportunity to hone our real-world skills, that's for certain!

We're definitely going to try to do this in 2009. I'm about a week away from our big event on Tennesspeed, but once that's past I can start looking into our options for this. :2cents:

In, provided I'm still a civilian. Little brother and girlfriend will also probably tag along . . .

Didn't we talk about this when we first got started?

Seems like some folks wanted cooler weather and some of us preferred summer heat.

+1

A crap ton of work and coordinating goes into the Tennesspeed Get-Togethers. One of the reasons they are so popular and successful is that they have plenty of time, from one to the next, on a yearly basis. It allows the staff and promoters to get everything ready, and the attendees to mark their calendars and schedule leave from work, months ahead of time.

TGO GTG '09 sounds like a winner to me.

I'd definitely drive down and attend, as I've missed every other shoot to date.

I'll come if it's hot weather, on a lake or river with a range nearby and totally naked dancing girls and in a camping situation with a beer & liquor store close by.

Well, I might compromise on the totally naked and dancing part. Potentially naked would be acceptable.
