Do you get to Nashville semi-often? There is All Seasons Gardening and Brewing Supply on 8th Ave S., right next door to America's Motorsports.

Thanks for the tip.  I don't get down there much, but when I do I make it a point to hit all the things that have been on my list for a while.  I'll make the homebrew store part of my list for next time.  Having heavy homebrew packages shipped is a waste of money if I can get it from a brick and mortar store.  I'm brewing beer this summer so I'll probably stock up at this place if they have decent prices.

I just started brewing, so I'm not sure what decent prices really are. For my kit, which made a dark Belgian ale at around 7.5%ABV, it was $50. I'm not sure how their ingredients are priced, but since it's getting close to time to get another kit, I will try and remember to look at how that stuff is priced.

I started out on wine and have made enough to last through the year, so I'm going to stock on beer now.  For me the primary goal was saving money with the secondary goal of having fun with it.  Due to the primary goal I look for deals on juice.  Having made 12 gallons of wine with the cheapest stuff available (welch's concentrate) I'm probably gonna do the same on beer.  I check the prices on Amazon and a few of the homebrew sites to get an idea of what the fair market value is.  If the store is around those numbers I'll probably buy enough to last a long time.  I've been surprised to see that many of the 5 gallon beer kits cost just as much or more as many 6 gallon wine kits.  I've been looking for a cheaper IPA kit but they all seem to be around $50-$60.  Still cheaper than most IPAs that come in 6 packs for around $9, but not by much.
