YHM makes or sells them. Can't really tell from their site's description, but they are the first people I remember seeing selling those. If it is something YHM actually makes, quality should be good. Their stuff is usually top notch.

That being said, I'd prefer a Harris bipod mounted with a LaRue adapter if it were me. That way you have a rock solid system that can be removed to shed weight from the front of your rifle when you aren't using it. I tend to prefer the stubby vertical grips, though, so I'm admittedly not a big fan of the full-size fore grips.

My brother put one on his "tactical 10-22". It doesn't do either job well. Not a good fore grip and definitely not a good bipod.

Save your money.

We've sold those, and the CAA variants.

They're sort of cool for 20" rifles, but kind of pointless on carbines.

I always think of stuff like this from an engineering standpoint. Hey, I'm an engineer, among other stuff. If it was TOTALLY solid, it should be as good as a standard bi pod. But of course it isn't nearly as solid.

I'd pass on it.

We have the Mako version in stock, and its much nicer than the original Grip Pod.

They are sorta long and unnecessary on the sorta rifles I like to run, but I could see using one on a SPR or DMR type gun with a 18" or 20" barrel.

As another engineer, I second the previous engineer's comment.

I think I am going to stick with my Harris bipod, and Yankee Hill picatinny adapter, and eventually buy a Cadex folding grip.

But, then, my M1A weighs a metric tonne.
