YouTube videos not showing in first post

For some reason, when I create a thread and attempt to post a YouTube to the first post, the video will not appear. I post the same link to the second post, the video appears. Any reason for this?

Enclose the video in the {media} ... {/media} tags.  Use square brackets [ ] instead though.

I'll give that a shot. is there a reason behind that requirement for the initial post, but not the subsequent posts?

Pretty weird.

I've always just pasted the link from browser address bar and they work every time.

It's not a requirement; probably a bug in the software.  I've had questionable luck getting it to parse the URL correctly no matter what post # it is if I don't enclose the URL in the media tags manually.

It's been a while since I've tried it but if I recall correctly posting a YouTube link in Firefox will embed properly, from Internet Explorer it only displays the link.

For example....

From IE 8:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tCIRJH9p0

IE 10:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tCIRJH9p0

From Firefox:

I've had this happen to me no matter what post using tapatalk (inconsistently anyways), but copying directly from the address bar to a post on the computer has always worked.
Thanks for the media tags. Seems to be working on the phone with them.

Interesting observation. I only use FireFox, will see if I get same results when I get back home and can use broadband.

I have been wondering about this myself. I use Chrome. Forcing it with the media tags will work for me.
