Krauthammer's statement

Recommended Posts

I was a machinist for many years....I can promise anyone YOU CANNOT GET RID OF GUNS IN THIS COUNTRY. Ever.

As a student machinist, I can vouch for this. Dang right! They take our AKs and ARs - we can make new ones!

well, I'm not going to ever say they won't get my guns but I will say this. I will not go silently into the night and they will remove them from cold dead clammy hands when they do because I have no plans of just inviting them in to take them............jmho

quote     "I know, Bush and the Patriot Act started it, but Obama is bringing it to new heights."   Yep, he is trying to make it into his own private army and working hard at it. By arming Social Security, EPA and other Government agencies...

Neither Obama nor Bush had anything to do with arming agents from either of those agencies. In fact to the best of my knowledge he hasn't armed ANY agency that didn't previously have armed agents. If anyone knows of one I'd be interested to hear though.

I'm still not quite sure what all the hoopla about his "civilian army" is. I would think the only civilians worth having in an army are the type predisposed NOT to follow an unconstitutional order.

Of course even that is still giving the matter more creadance than it deserves, so far all we have are a few quotes from him about how we can pull funds from the military to give to bums, that and a series if articles routinely proven false complete with photos also routinely proven false.

Ok nick, I will give you the benefit of the doubt that neither Bush nor Obama are guilty of giving them the power to carry.  I will just tell you that according to statistics all released in 2012 all Government agencies that previously had armed personnel in 2008, all of them have more than tripled the amount of armed staff each agency had by May 2012. That was done just the four years Obama was in office. I guess that would explain why all of these agencies along with Homeland Security had to order over 120 million rounds of ammunition during that same time period huh?

According to statistics released in 2013 all those statistics in 2012 were debunked.

Passing legislation to confiscate or outlaw firearm ownership would be a rubicon that we could never back away from, and would result in terrible consequences that we haven't seen in a 150 years.

Best case it would result in a low level insurgency that the federal government would spend decades trying to stamp out, more likely it would result in a full out civil war that may very well lead to the dissolution of the union.

Our military can't win against 10,000 illiterate goat herders in Iraq, a country the size of Texas, and we had nearly 200,000 troops in country along with 100,000 more PMC's.  What are they going to go when their supply lines are exposed and the war making infrastructure is open to attack and sabotage?  The question isn't how many members of the military and police forces are willing to open fire on their own countrymen, but how many are willing to show up to a job and leave their families completely unprotected.

Nobody in this country alive today has ever saw real war in their cities, town, and neighborhoods...  We live in a safe society where the threat of car bombs, and political assassinations are unfathomable, all of that changes the day they pass a law that outlaws firearm ownership.

Just remember we have lost every counter insurgency operation we've been involved in for the last 50+ years.

I think I mentioned some of this in previous posts. Obama began giving litmus tests to many of his highest ranking personnel in all branches of our military and he ended up relieving them of their duty as the head of any commands because he found out they would not order their troops to fire upon American people on American Soil just because he told them to. He also made enemies of all the troops by not letting them all that were out of country not vote in last election. He began alienating himself from our military as far back as his speech he made at West point shortly after taking office in his first term. He made the statement that (close quote) " I think that since we have a fully voluntary military I think that they should also volunteer to pay for their own medical expenses for injuries sustained during battle in war." You could hear a pin drop in that auditorium when he said that and you can imagine what those soldiers at West point academy were thinking almost immediately. I think that night and that speech put him on a down hill slide that he has not yet and will never recover back from. So as far as him being able to depend on our Military to take a stance against the American people and standing beside him are slim to none at best................jmho

Didn't think this was worth a new thread but does it seem to anyone else that Krauthammer seems to be in the limelight a lot suddenly? There was a special on him on Fox news a week or two ago, I keep hearing his name and now he's the power player on Fox News Sunday. Is something going on with him?

I think a lot of it has to do with his intelligence tnguy. The man is a well respected speaker and can back up anything he says with stats and proof. He has written a few books recently that have drawn major attention to what is going on it the country today with facts.............jmho

That was a most excellent one hour special on him, btw, hope it's archived somewhere? His transition from liberal to conservative over his earlier years is quite the lesson, using logic rather than emotion, and especially seeing politics as he does, as the necessary engine from which a society either moves ahead or stagnates and fails.

He's been a "power player" for quite some time on FOX. I imagine they'd give him his own show if he wanted it.

Nah, he's often on the panel but the power player is a fluff bit at the end that I usually don't bother watching. I know he's been a contributor quite a lot but it seems like the focus has actually been on him recently. Probably it is that book thing.

He just released a book on his life, and has been making the circuit to sell his book, everything will go back to normal in a few weeks, after his press tour.
