i just bought a glock 27 at the goodman show a couple weeks ago. it came with night sigts and 3.5 trigger lnib with 2 mags for 450. one of the things i just noticed was on the outside of the ejector it has a high spot that sticks out when it has one in the chamber. my glock 23 does not have this. was this something this guy added to it or does it come stock?

it's stock, all of my Glocks have been this way. Perhaps your Glock 23 is an older model. Does it have a rail or finger grooves on the grip?

the 23 has a rail and finger grooves, so that makes it a 3rd gen, right? is there a 4th gen?

No, yours is third gen. There is no 4th gen. Not sure what else they could do to the design... unless for whatever reason they added a manual safety down the road... somehow.

3rd gens all have it.

All of the 3rd Gen. Glocks I've owned (G27, G19 x4, G34, G22, G21) have all had the "nub" on the extractor that served as a loaded chamber indicator.

guess i got shafted on my g23 lol

Why did you get shafted?

The gun still works. You've just got to remember whether you chambered a round or not.

i know it still works...trust me, one is in there all the time!!

I could be wrong, but I don't recall a round loaded flag on the extractor of my 3rd gen G23.

But my 1980s Beretta 92SB has one.

The third generation Glocks came out before the LCI (loaded chamber indicator) did. So your G23 was probably one of the early third gen. guns, although someone may have swapped extractors. You didn't necessarily get screwed. I would never trust a loaded chamber indicator anyway.

Actually, it got them into certain areas of CA and Massachusetts. They didn't copy XD, the just took the easiest route into certain areas. No importation points for the LCI.

You can add the LCI to the older 23 by buying the correct extractor and spring-loaded bearing if you'd like. But I don't trust 'em any more than Deerslayer. How hard is a press-check, really?

I have to admit that I never use the indicator on the Beretta. Then again, I always know it has one in the chamber.

It's a harmless addition and actually would be easily usable in the XD version, even in the dark.

I'll give Glock a brownie point for adding it.
