In an Ar 15, what is the advantage of having a chrome lined barrel or a non-chrome lined barrel ?

Also, are there any advantages to a bull barrel ?

I am looking at using one mainly in 3 gun matches in .223. If I decide I want to use it for deer hunting, I will get a 6.8 upper.

I'm kinda new to the rifle stuff when it comes to this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Chrome Pros

Much higher corrosion and wear resistance.

Better extraction.

Chrome Con

Theorectically, less accuracy.

Personally, I won't own an AR without chrome lining, but all mine are defensive guns. For games, whatever tickles you.

Ty,

Most serious 3-gunners have an 18"-20" barrel, flat top, no front sight, big honking muzzle break, 2 optics

Casual 3-gunners typically have a "std" flat top 16" carbine with a dot optic of some type.
