The hood ornament and key ring are touches of genius. I'd almost consider some kind of rail-mounted hood ornament. But the fella really needs more lights on that rifle.

I've always thought a Mercedes hood ornament would be perfect at the end of a long rail.  It would make a great front sight...blacked out of course.

I broke one of mine with my trusty framing hammer. I gotta get better tools

You can afford a hammer??   I had to use a rock!

Who needs hammers or rocks. I just use my fingers to push the roll pins in.

I helps a lot if ya drill out the holes first, then they just slip in.

But these lowers don't take roll pins ......maybe your gas block ?

That was a big swing and a miss !

It ain't an AR until you hit it with a hammer. I don't care how new fangled you get :)

Seriously, I intend to build mine in the general profile of an M16. This sight seems to have most of the parts I will need.

If any of you have know anything about this site, or have any better suggestions for places to find what I need, I would really appreciate your help.

I don't know if you'll be happy with that. It's not going to look true to form with a billet lower. Not that there's anything wrong with retro. I finished an A2 not long ago. No way I would have used a billet lower, even if I had one sitting in the safe.

Were you using one of those waffle headed Estwing framing hammers? If not, you weren't using the right tool for the job.

x2 what Mike said^ the lines on these uppers and lowers aren't going to lend themselves well to building an A2 rifle. If I was going to build an A2 and had another AR in the safe, I would move the billets over to that rifle and use the forged for the A2 build. Of course that's my opinion and I have nothing concrete to base that on, plus a "retro meets modern" rifle might be cool..
