Need optics for a 20" AR flattop

Guys,

My wife surprised me with an anniversary present (mossberg MVP varmint 24"). I stole a SWFA 10x42 from an AR and it is a great fit.

Now I need optics for the AR. It is 20" flat top. I have aimpoint PRO and EOTech 512 on the others. . This time, I want to run an illuminated optic in the 3-4 magnification range. Ideally, I'd like something that includes any riser/ mount needed. Also, not looking for a high $$ setup. Any suggestions?

I ve got a magnifier in the classifieds, would mate up with the Aimpoint or Eotech.

I have a Primary Arms 1-4x on my AR15.  It's got an illuminated dot.  It feels much more than a $120 optic.

I second the primary arms, great scope for the money. Would suggest a burris 1-4x also as they can be found on the cheaper side if you look hard enough usually they come with a pepr mount also (sometimes a fastfire also..).

Leupold's Mark AR line is pretty good, and not overly expensive.  Same with the 30mm offerings from Burris.

Well, the Burris ar-536 was a bad idea. Eye relief was poor and reticle was canted. Sending back. I have a 1-4x24 Buriz MTAC on the way.

I blew budget a bit , so Any thoughts on a sub $50 mount??

Burris MTAC is what all the 3 gunners use. It or a Vortex Razor HD 1-6 is what I'm going to get for mine.

Burris PEPR mounts are good.  Cabelas had them on sale a couple of weeks ago for $86 for the QD version.

Just had a chance to take a look at the MTAC today. Wow! What a scope. These are SUPER nice.

Vortex Viper PST 1-4x would be my recommendation .... Awesome scope at $500 or below price point

Otherwise the SWFA HD Variable 1-4 or 1-6 if you wanna spend a little more

FYI, the PPR mount arrived today. Great combo. I really appreciate the guidance. I could not be happier with setup.
