McCarthy is the congresscritter who introduced a bill to renew the Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, and expand it back in February. If you ever wondered why anti-gun bills get introduced by silly anti-gun politicians, here's your answer: They don't know what they're sponsoring or proposing to be law.

Instead of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?", can we have a TV show called "Are you smarter than a politician?"

I actually just read that legislation.

Not only is the sponsor stupid, the legislation basically outlaws any weapon with which you could protect yourself...

She's also the silly congresscritter who introduced a high capacity magazine ban the day of the shootings at VTech, which also, if my read on Thomas.gov was correct, reintroduces the 94 Ban as well. I still don't get how New Yorkers can re-elect her every two years... Mine not to reason why, mine to start making phone calls to my state and national congresscritters.

actually, I think someone hit it right on the head...

its not ignorance..its a fantasy world..thats why its called "revisionist" history.

make no mistake..these people are not ignorant of their own agenda..they know exactly what they're doing. Once the population is disarmed, there will be NO way to stop them from instituting a socialist state. To do that, its in their interest to outlaw a battle proven rifle or any other rifle that will bar their way of using the military as an instrument of martial law when the time comes.

A good example of their wish for democracy to fail is Harry Reid. This is a man that REFUSES to believe what Gen. Petraeus is saying about the advances in Iraq that have been made by our military forces there.

He refuses to believe this because it doesn't help his ideology.

This is the same reason that the USSR failed. Corruption was rampant and still is in the Soviet Union...People believed that they were "entitled" to the wealth of the nation and the power that they were supposed to serve.

Actually, the M1 Garand is not on that list. The M1 Carbine is. Which makes just about as much sense as banning the Garand in my opinion.
