Build or Buy?

Right before all the panic started last Nov me and my son put together a budget AR. I got a polymer ATI complete lower from  local FFL up the road from me, last one in stock, and my son ordered a complete 16" M4 flat top upper with BCG & charging handle from Rguns. We didn't learn much about the actual assembly since all we had to do was pin it together. I think we had about $550 total in the build with tax, fee, shipping, etc included. At $550 that left me some cash to put into an optic and mags & ammo to feed it.

I know I may hear some flak about the polymer lower but it has performed great and the quality is very good. Seemed like just what I was looking for on a budget build, and It fit the bill for what we expect from the rifle.

If you look in the firearm classifieds on here you will note a few complete ARs in the $680 range.

I think areo precision had cosmetic blemished stripped lowers cheap when I was looking last week. Don't quote me but I think they were $75 with free shipping to an FFL. Rguns is still stocked up on the complete uppers in the range of $420 plus shipping, last year they were $409 so they have not went up that much.

New Frontier complete polymer lowers are around $140, you might check them out

Hope that helps you out UncleJak, if I get a chance I will try to get a pic of this budget build we did.
