them things are near more fun than the law allows to shoot.

Nothing like a fireball and an atomic blast when you pull the trigger.

Sorry for the reply delay, folks. This hotel I am stuck in charges 10 bucks a day for internet.

CAS, sorry, but I had one of those 22's years and years ago. If you want one of these, though, I will hold it for you. Seems to have held up fairly well in the cosmoline for quite a few years, and I have a couple other things I'd rather shoot - when and if I get the chance, anyway. Springfield Trapdoor 45-70, for one. Almost enough to make you give up on those weenie 30 calibers :P

Well thanks Mark, go ahead and hold me one. I know little to nothing about Mosin Nagant selection, so you can just pick one. I've picked up an application to Burger King, since Food Lion apparently doesn't check their applications too often.

cody, pick up the phone and call the manager. Call him every other day. Keep asking why your app is not good enough. Seriously. If that is where you want to work the plan I have given you will yield a job. Totally, they will hire you.

If he does that, they're liable to make him the manager.

Might just be because I took the lazy route and applied online, where ony 4 positions were listed (Two Dairy, one Bagboy [called something else] and one Special Associate)

Burger King on the other hand, I actually know several of the people who work there and have the capability of walking there from school if needed. THough not so much home. But the good thing is, Mom is thinking of applying as a temporary job until she finds a better job, which means i just ride with her and we save gas. I keep telling her to check out the new factory here for the military protectice clothing, but she hasn't gotten around ot it yet.

EDIT: Also, Burger King's sausage biscuits with cheese are good and this gives me a chance ot get a discount or free.

Cody, one of 'em is yours. There is very little difference between them - the color of the varnish, maybe. They're all arsenal refinished and in the same condition (excellent).

Mike, the trapdoor is a hoot. Recoil isn't that bad, but you know you're throwing 500 grains downrange.

As for a carbine - www.odcmp.com still has service grade inlands for $495, which price you just cannot beat. Price 'em at gun shows recently? They're starting around 850. They won't last out the year, so buy one as quick as you can. They are a great gun, a reasonable defensive arm, a wonderful centerfire trainer, a wonderful ladies' rifle, a real slice of history and without a doubt a great investment.

You gonna be back in town this weekend? If not maybe Mike can pick one up for me and I can meet him to get it. I can pay you any time for one, just let me know how you want to handle this.:P

Carbines have gone through the roof! Wished I'd have bought one back in the 80's when they were running $100 a piece. $495 is a great price. There was one up on GOLSN that the guy wanted $750 for.

Those are nice looking M44s. Congrats on getting them! You guys seem to have all the fun toys! :P

I won't know until Friday afternoon whether or not I will get orders. We don't get much warning - ranging from a couple hours to a couple days - and I could get sent out anytime between now and then. If I don't get orders, I am coming home for the weekend.

If I do get home will post it here on my way out the door Friday. If not, Mike could probably arrange something. Or Julie might could pick it up for you, but we know how that worked out last time :P

if Mark comes home this weekend I will try to go up that way. I need as much notice as possible if this is all going to happen. I would love to go hang out Saturday or Sunday. My wife is pretty cool with all of this stuff too.

I just want to go and shoot. I learn from Mark everytime I am there. So that is my incentive.

now if by chance Mark comes home, and if by chance I am able to go up there I will be happy to bring rifles back to Knoxville. All potential purchasers work out your details through Mark in PM or however. Just be put on notice. If I bring a rifle back for you, and Mark does not get his end of things, I will do whatever it takes to help him collect his dough. (Gerald, you are way exempt from this threat.) I am not being the middleman for Mark to get screwed.

Mark you got a pocket pistol to sell?

aside from this, Can I shoot your M1carbine again if I can come up Mark?

well, that might explain
I can't help when mom is home or not. She's currently volunteering at the library, which really ruins a driving schedule.

I've got paper for burger king though, and at a 75% discount for a meal and free drinks, I'm in. I already spend way too much there, might as well make some.

not to matter anymore. I am not going to be able to go to Kingsport this weekend.

no nothing bad. The grandkids are going to stay with us this weekend, and I would rather be here with them. We have not had them for near a month so it is a easy decision really.

Oh heck yeah, take every minute you can get!

Yep, actually today I've had mine most of the day. Had a scare this morning, thought the oldest had chicken pox. :D turns out to be a rash.

well maybe I am going now, plans are up in the air. If we have the boys it will probably not be until Sunday afternoon til Monday night. So Saturday I will be free I think.

So everyone continue on with their Moison Nagant plans.

Making the M44 run tomorrow, woohoo.

I can see it if I get pulled over on the way home.

Officer: are there any weapons in the truck sir?

Me: yes sir, there are some.

Officer: Define some

Me: 3 Mosin Nagants, a couple of handguns, a couple other rifles and a few thousand rounds of jacketed ammunition.

Officer:

Me: :D

The bus is leaving at about 9:30 AM

Yarg, still got a good $63 to earn. I've got about $22 here, $20 tomorrow for mowing (hopefully it won't be too hot), and -$5 to help with the last bill of the month.

Maybe more if I do even more odd jobs at the grandparent's.

It's a good start, though. Now that I have the application filled out (okay, I've learned to keep the information for my references readily available now, took me forever to find it again), just need ot take it down and get interviewed.
