You can win small battles in local districts, but when the game is upped to the national level, the organization willing to give

anything and everything away to get elected seems to be the winner. Regardless of his color, his ideology was so well masked

to the low info voter that, if that same voter realized how much of a deal with the Devil he made, he might have voted differently,

if he chose to think. Now, those voters who sat it out may say it was going to happen anyway and to let it fall and get it over with,

I hope that group is well positioned to survive all this because it is already a pain, but will get worse very fast.

He(Obama) is playing for keeps, and the rest of us are going to have to feel the pain.

There is no doubt in my mind that Obama will get the chance to put two or more extreme liberal justices on the Supreme Court and there is equally no doubt in my mind that Romney would have at least tried to appoint justices who would be extremely better justices...that simple fact alone should have, in my opinion, been enough for ALL conservatives and libertarians (and all the rest who claim to love the Constitution) to put their cynicism aside and vote for Romney (or at least, show up to vote for SOMEONE!).

Whilst I certainly am not happy with the idea of more activist judges on the SC (and I think you're right), it's not as if the current bunch have been doing a bang-up job. Trying to make the republican party limp along with duct tape and string with the entire aim of possibly protecting one, maybe two positions in an institution which has been failing us badly appears, from the facts on the ground, to be pretty bad strategy.

The SC should be the last resort when it comes to government. They aren't supposed to make the laws and they aren't supposed to execute them. If it gets to the SC, things have already gone wrong.

Note that it's quite possible that Romney ended up with the nomination precisely to allow Obama to stay in unencumbered. I'm certainly convinced it's the case for McCain.

And libertarians aren't lost in the wilderness. They know precisely where they are to an accuracy of within 3ft - in the wilderness.

My reaction was not, I believe, what they were after. Her position was to clearly state Obama's case for a strike. The Democratic black caucus tried and looked like a bunch of buffoons. McCain could have tried but he is a Republicrat. Obama is not competent enough to sway a 4 year old to an ice cream cone. She was it but instead of making his case she used that pulpit to prove that she should and will be President, and she succeeded. She did look Presidential and has the expression and speech down that will get her elected. What I said was SOMEONE better step uo to the plate. The three candidates the leftists are trying to pick for us, Rand Paul who will go down in flames because they will use his father's record against him, Paul "we should not defund Obamacare" Ryan and Ted "I am not for illegal alien amnesty until after I get elected then I am for it" Cruz do not have a snowballs chance in Hades of beating Hillary. One absolutely has no chance, the other two have shown themselves to be establishment Republicans. So someone BETTER step up to the plate and do it quick because two days ago Hillary absolutely laid a solid foundation for a step right into the White House. Our illustrious Conservatives have done nothing except tell us how great they are. I don't want to hear it. Show us.

The only person I believe has any chance and would beat Hillary and can clearly state the real Conservative position is Alan West. As of right now, he isn't running.

I agree; based on what I know, which I have to admit is not a great deal, he seems like he would be an excellent choice for president.

That's always the problem with potential "great candidates" isn't it?  A candidate can sound really good until all their positions start coming out in the open and/or until they start "playing the move to the middle" game because some handler says that's what you have to do to get elected. ;)
